Equine Externship Recommendations

Hi, I am a second year student looking to do an equine externship this summer. I live in Oklahoma so I am interested in staying anywhere sort of close to here. I am interested in lameness/sports medicine and alternative medicine aspects. If anyone has recommendations of programs that allow for great hands-on experience, I would greatly appreciate it!

Most equine externships, especially sports medicine will not involve very much "hands-on" involvement due to the value of the animals and the nature of the work. With that said, observing is valuable in itself and you can gain a lot from it.

I recommend checking out the AAEP avenues site to find places that fit your interests.
