It’s an explicitly incorrect description per the classification system. It’s using the census classifications which explicitly group MiddleEast/ North Africans as white.

African american refers to the ethnicities native to west, central, and Southern Africa.

Even though Morocco is technically Africa. Morrocans aren’t counted as African american under this system.

Your only honest options are choosing not to say a race or “white”.
