From what I can tell (based on my case and some friends applying this cycle that have gotten invites), pretty quickly. I called a few weeks after submitted and was informed I was going to get one and was sent an email a couple weeks after that.
 
On another note, anyone who has interviewed in early sept call EVMS to hear anything about their status? I heard they know pretty quickly, but am too afraid to call :scared:

I interviewed there last week and I'm thinking of calling next week. They said you can call after 2 weeks right?
 
AHHH I JUST CALLED and they told me I was accepted!!!!!! But I won't get my letter till oct 15. so its unofficial. but YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! OMG FINALLY I'm going to be a physician 🙂 🙂 I guess you have to wait at least 2 weeks to call? 🙂 🙂

Wow! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I'm a re-applicant just like you so I know how long this whole process has been. Go and celebrate, you deserve it!

Ouch. I am so sorry to hear that. I was on a waitlist two years ago and it never materialized into anything so I know how frustrating it is. But hey, at least you still had that interview at VCU that may turn into an acceptance! Besides, I remember at the interview that the admissions director mentioned that being on the waitlist is not a bad thing. She also said that the list is not ranked and that they like it if you express interest in the school.

I interviewed 9/7, and I'm out of state so I'm shocked about the acceptance, but very happy 🙂 I heard that if you call about two weeks after the interview they will know your status, but the official acceptance will come oct 15 via mail.
 
Has anyone else called EVMS to ask for their decisions yet? I'm going to call this Friday (exactly 2 weeks from my interview date) and was wondering if any brave souls who interviewed earlier have called yet...

Yeah, I read about your WL. Hang in there buddy, the admissions director did say that the WL is not a bad place to be. We even had someone during the tour who got in from the WL.

Yeah, I know. I liked the school, so as soon as that waitlist is official I'm going to inundate them with info. They're really nice about calling for status checks, so definitely call when it's your two weeks (provided you're not scared of potentially bad news).
 
I couldn't wait any longer and called them today... and was told that no decision has been made yet. They were nice about it though and told me to call again next friday. So the waiting continues....
Has anyone else called them post-interiew yet?
 
haha i'm too scared to call right now... i'll call next friday when it'll be two weeks..let the praying begin 🙄
 
Does EVMS e-mail you when you are complete? I sent my stuff there almost a month ago, wondering if I should check.

They send you a post card to let you know that you are complete. I got mine several weeks after I sent in my secondary.

No, they send you a postcard saying you are complete. But if you want you can also call and ask. They are very nice! Plus.....they might even tell you about an interview invite over the phone as happened to me and several others on here! 🙂

I would definitely call and check. Mine got lost in the mail, which I never would've known if I hadn't called. Plus, they're very fast. My resent app was complete Monday and I called today and was told about an interview 🙂

I interviewed Sept. 14th, called today (October 1st) and was told I'd be mailed an acceptance letter on the 15th! It feels great to have a little pressure off and to know that no matter what else happens in this crazy process, I'm going to med school!

Just called and I'm on the waitlist...I guess its better than getting rejected.

i called today and no decision yet. i guess about one more week of waiting... :scared:

Just called, they said I'm complete and just waiting to be reviewed by the adcom.
 
Does EVMS really let you know in 2 weeks. What if it is a rejection? A rejection over the phone would be harsh. I'd feel like such a loser.

If you click on the secondary app website link, it's right there. It was also included in the e-mail I got for the secondary invite.

I'm in the same boat. I sent everything in almost a full month ago. They sure are taking their sweet time. 🙁

(sad face b/c I would like to have an interview there!)

can't help jochi out, but ssquared, aren't you a VA resident? I'm IS too and my app was reviewed within a week of being marked as complete. I'd call them and see what the hold up is because that seems really strange.
 
I don't think I have the guts to call. I interviewed on 9/28, so two weeks after that is 10/12. At that point, I think I'll just wait till the 15th. Do they mail them out on the 15th? Do they give rejections over the phone? Four days after my interview and the wait is killing me!😱

I don't blame you, I was definitely shaking when I called. Letters come out in a week so not that long to wait.....😀 Hope you get an acceptance!
 
i interviewed on 9/21 and i called today..still no decision has been made..i dunno whats taking so long?

Yeah, the 15th is just around the corner so it wouldn't make that big of a deal. Still, it'd be nice to know as soon as possible. I might wait until the end of this week and then make the call.

Oh, and congrats on your acceptance. I bet that takes a lot of pressure off.

I am a VA resident, and I sent in all of my materials a month ago. They didn't mail me a "you're complete" postcard until a few days ago, though. The postcard was even mailed after I called them and was assured I had been complete for some time.

No idea what the deal is. Hopefully I'll hear back soon!

let me know if you get a decision. i interviewed the same day as you but i called yest and still nothing, either that or that's what they say when you get rejected b/c they don't want to say that over the phone??
