Me: I was just going to clean the sonicator.

Someone: You plan out days to clean your toothbrush?

Corpus Cavernosum

Kinda sounds like it should be a word that describes cave diving.....

and at the same time... it kinda is about cave diving.

Oh, and goggle. Say that word after a few drinks, you'll laugh for... minutes.

HYPERHOMOCYSTEINEMIA! 😱

ERCP

endoscopic.retrograde.colangio.pancreatography

floccularnodular.

Say it three times fast. Then take a shot for every time you don't say it right. Then look up what it controls in your brain.

And yes, I'll (giggle) go there:

*sphincter*
:scared:

I always liked:

phlebotomy
sphygmomanometer
Escherichia (E. coli = M. C. Escher??)

Fatty Fa/Fa Rat

I sometimes use it to describe pt's I have on the ambulance.

Backeotomy. As in, "Doctor said I need a backeotomy."

There is no question: splanchnic. And to an earlier poster, there are other meatuses than the penile one, the internal and external auditory meatuses, for example.

spondylolisthesis

That's hilarious.

How about pneumothorax or thoracotomy?
I see your pneumothorax and I raise you a crepitus.

Also, *sacculitis* :scared:

I'm going to name my first son Axon Hillock. He's going to become a rock star, most likely lead guitar. How can you not with a name like that?

"Son of Sevenless" and "Bride of Sevenless"
these are two proteins involved in the formation of eye color in Drosophila. I've always liked these names

Either acromioclavicular or archenteron.

It's nice that yall like medicine, but do yall really have to do this?....kinda weird.

I second Gubernaculum (sp?) another good one is palatovaginal canal. They are holes in the palatine bone. So it always makes me think dirty thoughts about putting those two places of two different people close together.

"A little bit of <methylenedioxymethamphetamine>."
Another word I like is alpha-ketoglutarate.

*whew* i just flipped through this thread racked with anxiety that my word would be taken. it's not! and so, i present to you:

ZONA PELLUCIDA

i cant believe that PERINEUM was not taken....i never thought there would be a scientific name for gooch

to revive a post from the dead...

cumulus oophorus

that is all

i cant believe that PERINEUM was not taken....i never thought there would be a scientific name for gooch

or taint (there was a whole SNL skit about a man who had is perineum removed). Will Ferrel referred to it as his "fleshy fun zone"

It's a toss-up:

ankylosing spondylitis (so rhythmic!), or

pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (so unpronounceable!)

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the TATA box yet.

Yeah I was gonna go with the TATA box, you beat me to it.

Try saying that 3 times in a row as fast as you can without screwing up...

yes! no one said chylothorax yet!

and....logorrhea (love the "diarrhea of the mouth" mental image)

hematopoiesis

and for a pun: "hematopoietic justice"

Also a favorite: PNAS, as in Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, often pronounced, "pee-nass"
