How do you find workshops to attend? My mentor told me that if I come upon any workshops I would like to attend to let her know, but I am not sure where to start looking! I am new and naive... someone help me!

Well, thats pretty vague. Workshops in what area?
Professional conferences offer tons of talks and workshops at their annual events, so try to attend one or 2 conferences a year. If you belong to APA or other professional organizations, you sometimes receive emails about Continuing education workshops or embedded online presentations. Also, join professional orgs and google things/topics that interest you. There is tons of streaming video presentations online these days. I was on Pearson's website reading about the MMPI's new RC scales and saw that they were offerig a workshop near me soon. 100 bucks, I doubt Ill go. However, our department constantly sends us emails about talks and presentations given at the med center, by practitioners in our area and faculty at nearby universities, or anything that is going on nearby. Too many emails actually. My lab is in actually at the psychiatry department, so I also try to attend grand rounds talks (neuro and psych) when I can. I will say, I find hearing the grand rounds talks by various distinguished faculty infinitely more interesting and educational than some of the "workshops" I've been to.

Workshops have a way of circulating in department emails, and as erg mentioned, professional societies are also a great way to go.
For example, the one I'm going to next week has a 2-day "Mini ERP boot camp" put together by Steve Luck where he does an overview of setting up, running, and analyzing ERP data. Not going for a couple reasons, though I wish I could. You'll find lots of conferences have workshops either before, during, or afterwards.
Just watch out for quality. You may get emails about podunk workshops put on by some twit out in the community who opened a private practice once he figured out the magic combination of magnets, jewelry, and stickers that can cure someones depression. Obviously that's the extreme scenario but the point is to watch out for those folks.
