I have my CS coming in a few days. I recently bought the 3rd edition of First Aid just before they released the 4th edition. I hear it has 44 cases (as opposed to 41 cases of the 3rd edition).

Can someone just mention what those cases are, so I can figure out what questions should be asked (in case those cases are high yield). I really don't want to unload another $40+ for another book for 3 cases.....

I see at this link below stating about 3 more cases in first aid 4th edition compared to 3rd edition..see here http://usmleforums4u.com/showthread.php?216-New-cases-added-in-USMLE-CS-First-aid-4th-Edition

Also today i saw interesting thing about scoring pattern in cs exam comparing old and new cs pattern at this link http://usmleforums4u.com/showthread...ng-pattern-for-New-USMLE-CS-from-June-17-2012

Thank You ! 🙂 Exactly what I was looking for

@Sheldor: Im guessing the "touchy feely checklists" are just to emphasize being empathic and establishing a connection with the patient... I don't think I need a checklist for that but I haven't seen it so can't be sure.

for CS test takers after June (17th i believe), they are requiring a new format for the written note. Moreover, the test is supposedly going to be "less standardized" and "more personalized."

You'd be surprised what the book says you are supposed to do, haha
