Are exam percentages (for any given MCAT exam) equal to AAMC percentile ranks?

Would you say that the actual percent correct on the AAMC FL is generally lower than the percentile rank?

Correct percentiles are higher, that is, 90% correct on each section will give you a higher score than 90th percentile

It depends on where in the range you are. 25% correct is more than the proportion of people that would get that many correct, since that corresponds to chance and I seriously doubt a whole quarter of the population is performing at chance. However 95% correct is lower than the percentile range that likely scores that high (probably 99 percentile).
