Hey y’all! Me and a few other newly admitted med students have been working on a project called PitchLab after realizing how time-consuming it can be for premeds to find undergraduate research opportunities and individually reach out to faculty.

The tool lets a student enter their undergraduate institution, the university or hospital they’re interested in, and a few research specialties, then identifies faculty whose work matches those interests and uses information from their recent publications to help personalize outreach emails.

We’ve been testing it with students and have already seen some faculty responses, so I wanted to share what we’ve been working on and see what other premeds think. I’d especially appreciate any feedback on whether something like this would have been useful when you were trying to find a research position or what features you think would make the process better.
