What are the chances for a new FP graduates in the military to be assigned in a large medical facility especially in the Navy? Do they have the oportunity to deliver baby?

Thanks

at large MTFs, you probably will not be working in the inpatient side of the hospital care. Most of the FPs that I run into are assigned to branch medical clinics or acute care. I have never heard of FP delivering babies at the "Big 3s."

In the Navy: not so much at NNMC, NMCP, or NMCSD (in fact I don't think they even do any OB at NNMC; maybe they do now with the WRAMC move).

However, plan on doing plenty of deliveries during your residency at the other Naval Hospitals and if you are assigned as staff at one of those places definitely plan on doing plenty of deliveries.

That may be correct. But, Navy FP curriculum is heavy in OB. May be that is only for training purpose.

They can and do. I have delivered 30+ babies at NNMC. It is a matter of desire. If you want to catch babies, you can.
