My aadsas status for this school said my application has been denied. I haven't received the official **** letter from this mental institute, but if they put that crap on my aadsas status, f_ck them.

MN's secondary application asks stupid questions and one of them is why you got an F for a certain class.

I explained that I was falsely accused of plagiarism and was black mailed because I reported my teacher for false conduct. So in retribution, he alleged that I've plagiarized my project from the internet and hence failed me for the course.

I think the damn racist committee saw that and simply dumped my application. 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡

My DAT scores are above their average, as I've just taken a look at their admissions statistics in the ADEA book I've ordered last year. What a joke! I bet if I was an African-American male and had that infraction on my application, MN school of timber teeth would have let that slide under their nose.

They also ask an essay question of how I can contribute to their diversity. I guess they think diversity is only limited to blacks and native Americans. 🙄

And unlike roma rinda, and eye-oh-waaaaah, mn was one of my top choice d-schools. Oh well, what can I do?😀

Look, I know there will be guys here who will start to flame me for whining, but what do you expect when you've only received two interview invites?

Two invites is NOT enough for me, because my friend who has applied to med school said that for every THREE schools that invite you for an interview, only ONE of them will accept you. That's according to his past statistics.

I can't afford to get rejected by d-schools due to a minor infraction that occured in the past. At least that's what I'm thinking that's making the adcoms reject my application. It's a shame that the adcoms make a big deal out of a small infraction from the past. It's not like the adcoms are perfect. I bet they've received speeding tickets and got into trouble for not paying rents or were falsely accused of something.

I also rant about MN's dental school because of their admissions statistic. Their average DAT score for AA is 18. My AA is a 22. In addition, their average PAT score is a 17.5. LOL! My PAT score is a 21, 93%-tile.
What a joke!
Their average GPA is like a 3.45, and in that case my overall GPA is slightly lower than that number. However, I didn't major in science, and the undergraduate institute I've attended is ranked in the top 30 according to US News "phoney" report.

All in all, minne****ta's dental school adcoms are PURE STUPID people!

Dental school interviews LESS applicants so the chances of getting in are more in our favour (UMich interviews 800 ppl for the med program while only 300 ppl for roughly the same amount of seats for the dds program). And when you interview more people, the likelihood of the same type of person being considered is increased since we're all a bunch of keeners to begin with. It's going to be even harder if you had to pick between more of them... as this is where LUCK comes in to play!

well, he vents quite often. he talks so much crap about so many different schools (minnesota, loma linda, iowa, usc, etc. etc.), and when they dont want him, he goes nuts. plus, it's completely unnecessary to use such vulgarity. i'm wondering how he's going to handle it when patients sue him. blame them for being racist? but kudos to you in her drawer for trying to see this in a positive light. you definitely possess a necessary trait to be a great dentist.

I think the next time you need to explain why you failed a class you should come up with something along the lines of it was the worst semester of my life with serious personal problems but I managed to get good grades in everything exept "X".

thanks, I feel pretty lucky....I actually applied to 18 schools but didnt put them on the new predents. I'm going to interview at 9 unless I don't get accepted b4 my Nova and Case interviews. I got a little out-of-hand when clicking add when I filled out AADSAS.

I just don't understand why people on these forums think there is so much racial/ethnic/cultural bigotry among the admissions committee. One thing I've learned over the years is that there are smart, dumb, educated, alcoholic, crackhead, pigheaded, prissy, hick, stuck up, douchback, toolbags from EVERY single area of the country. And there are damn good denist and dental candidates from every part of the country. If I'm smart enough to realize that....I'd like to think every admission comitee would do the same.

Race IS a factor you *****. They even ask for your photo just to see who you are.

Doesn't matter if your DAT scores are high, or your GPA is decent.

I think under-represented minorities and females tend to have BETTER chances of getting into dental school. That's NOT FAIR!!!

admissions is not all merit based, eventhough it is a big factor. Certain schools reserves spots specifically for minorities. Your up bringing and your experiences in life can also determine admissions. Most people growing up in underserved areas tend to work in these areas and dental schools know that their is a need in this area. Studies have also shown that a majority of underserved minorites practice in underserved areas. I believe academic is a huge plus, but other factors are considered. I believe Minnesota aims to recruit students that will open a private practice so that they can get money back in the future in terms of "donations".

Maybe if you cry and beg to the admissions committee in your typical oh-so-articulate way they'll see through their color-blindedness and accept you because it's only FAIR. And dental school admissions is a lot more than academic merit. Take the interview for example. Schools use it to weed out those applicants who they consider the most likely to be found on the roof of the library with a sniper rifle, scope, and 600 rounds of ammo in 2 years -- like you. Yet somehow, you didn't even make it through to the interviews. Something about your application screamed "unstable prick" before they even had a chance to meet you! I suddenly have a lot more faith in dental admissions standards and procedures.

Wrong. Their DAT AA is over 19...as well as their PAT. Their average GPA for last year's class is right around 3.7 with their science GPA being right around 3.6.

I just interviewed this past Friday and let me be the first to say that this school is really great! Beautiful setting, really friendly staff, and pretty nice clinics. You're connected directly with the Mayo clinic and thus smack dab in the middle of a fantastic medical community.

They get a ton of funding for reasearch and just received a few sim labs.

Hate to rub it in, but you're missing out...not them.

Careful who you call ignorant. Armored tooth went out of his way to criticize a program that he knows little about simply because he wasn't offered an interview there. Had he been offered one I'm certain he wouldn't have had such harsh criticism. Could it be that the ignorance is yours my friend? Resentment, or "resitment" in your case gets you nowhere and it's best you learn that now.

Secondly, just because I received an interview obviously does not mean that I will get accepted and I completely understand that. Regardless of whether or not I get accepted there, it's not going to change my opinion of their program. They offer a wonderful balance between research and clinical work...something that is a big draw for me. This may not be the case for others.
