I haven't heard back from mcg yet...usually my mailwoman comes around 12:30. But I was wondering if anyone knew how much the waitlist at mcg actually moves.
From what I hear, the big push on the waitlist is between now and May 15. Then, there is still some movement into June and after that it dwindles down a lot. I have heard of people getting off the waitlist up until a few days before class starts.
Hello all you nail-biters. Just thought I'd help you complete your assessment of what's going on with MCG -- I live in Augusta, and I received my waitlist letter this morning. I hope you all fare better. Good luck!

well usually they accept on average 250 students to fill a class of 190. so I would say about 50 to 60 ppl get in off the alternate list.
I didn't receive any mail from MCG...maybe tomorrow?
Do you guys think that all the mail being sent out by MCG is all waitlist or are there still acceptances being mailed out?
I believe most of the mail should be waitlist letters but there will be some acceptances. The acceptances can range from a few to 40 or so.
For those who are waiting, it usually takes time for mail to be sorted by the mail departments at each school. So people in Atlanta or elsewhere, it could take a day longer or it might not.
Hey guys, I was told at my MCG interview that they do not over accept their class. That means that right now there are only 190 acceptances handed out. So as people (like me) decide to go other places, one person comes off the waitlist. So don't be discouraged!

"This year, the Admissions Committee accepted 78 of the 171 applicants, a pretty high number, says Dr. Young noting that some schools admit no more than five or 10."

While MCG is legally required to accept only 190, you will see the 240-250 figure on several pre-med websites because that extra 50 - 60 eventually get in off the waitlist. But thanks for pointing out that you're heading elsewhere and giving at least one of us some hope.
.Oh wow. Really sorry to hear that. How old was she?

No MCG mail today for me. Maybe tomorrow. 🙁
Bioman, my prayers are with you. Goodluck with the waiting.

So we just had 1 person who got waitlisted today?
That and someone else said that their friend got a waitlist mail, so total of two. Nothing in the mail for me (in Athens). Sigh. I hope the Braves win today.....
Nothing for me here in Savannah, GA.
I'm in Savannah-Nothing here.
Nothing from the A, T, L 🙂
I'm expecting my rejection or waitlist tomorrow. Either way I'll be withdrawing. I would imagine a number of waitlisters and acceptees will be giving up their spots so no matter what happens there probably is some hope! Write those letters if you guys end up on the W.L.!!

nothing. im in savannah
It seems like only the people that live in Augusta are finding out, which means others will be getting the letter tomorrow or the next day depending on where they live. So I don't think it means anything other than that we live further from Augusta?
haven't heard acceptances or rejection yet.
May be acceptances were sent out between midmarch and april.
if that were true, you'd think someone would post they got accepted during that month.

Also the mcg facebook group number hasn't really gone up that much.
Not to be a "Debbie Downer" but like someone previously stated, not everyone has facebook or uses sdn. It may just be that those who did get accepted are the people who use neither fb nor sdn.

I agree that this has to be true given the numbers, but I am in the minority in not ever having used facebook ever before, and even I joined the group.
I think it is possible, however, that some acceptees don't know about it.
Just got my waitlist letter for MCG dated April 4th here in Atlanta.
Got my hopes up when I saw it, cause it seemed to be "packed", but that was because of the folded return envelope, grrr...
The waiting continues...
They didn't even bother sealing it... they just put a strip of scotch tape across the seal.
Hope everyone else fares better 🙂

Add me to the MCG waitlist, dated 4/4/2008.
Here's to an enjoyable summer of checking e-mails and voicemails a million times a day!

I'll remain on the waitlist if thats the way to get in.
I'll fight the UTILMATE battle for MCG.
I'll wait until August 7th for MCG and pick up the phone even if it comes at 3 am.
I vow to remain strong and not break down.
I waited last year. It sucks. Somewhere around June 15th you give up on getting in. There might have been one.. but it wasn't me.
That was for Mercer and MCG.
I live in Atlanta, I haven't checked my mail yet but now I really don't want to. With all those waitlist letters out. I don't even have the guts to call home. This sucks, I waited last year too, not fun. The sad thing is, some of us on the waitlist probably have better applications than some of the ppl who got accepted during edp.
