Hi all,

I interviewed at GW on 10/23 and still no word. They have told me it is typical to take 10 weeks or more (its been 10-11w since I was there) but I don't really buy it. I think its not looking good for me. Anyone else who interviewed around then heard anything?

When did you speak to them about the status of your application? I interviewed in Sept. and got accepted in October. Out of all the schools I've applied to, GW was the quickest in their application process. Perhaps you should give them a call to see what's up? I hope this helps.

I actually called yesterday. They said my app still hasn't been reviewed. The most they could tell me was that sometimes it depends on how quickly the interviewers return their feedback. I don't understand but for now I will take it as a bad sign...

You should let them know what is up. I waited 10 weeks and finally contacted them. Five days later, I received an *opened* alternate list letter from them dated November 7th (it was December) that had been given three different postmarks on the envelope.

In short, I think it was a post office problem.

Hi have called them more times than you could believe! They keep telling me this is normal. I truly do not understand...

The interview coordinator told us that good news comes at least 10 weeks from the day of the interview, and bad news comes much earlier... So I thought no news is good news from GW.

I interviewed on Oct 19th and I think I got the "good news" Dec 17th. Dont know how this would help you.... but maybe the committee met between our interview dates and then not for awhile longer.

I have interviewed at a few schools that I would pick above GW (Michigan, Case Western, Pitt, Georgetown).... but if none come through.... I will attend GW.

Just a word of warning in general...all mail in and out of DC is a mess. There still are a lot of problems from the Anthrax problems. I live in DC and my GWU acceptance was lost in the mail for a few weeks...I got it one month after it was postmarked (it was sent around 9 weeks after my interview). It was past that mandatory date that they impose as a reply date, but they were very understanding and flexible with it.
Good luck.....

I agree, the mail in DC is a mess. I live in the DC area and after I submitted my secondary, I did not hear from GW for a while. I contacted them in mid Dec. to see if there had been a problem with my app. Come to find out, the decision to grant me an interview had been made before Thanksgiving and for some reason, I had not received the letter. I think that you should definitely inquire about your app. if it's been awhile. Good luck!
