GEMS students are exempt from the Cardiopulmonary, Gastrointestinal, and Renal modules. However, they must still attend the anatomy portions of these modules and take the anatomy test again.
When you fill out the GEMS application there is a portion where you indicate whether you are applying to the GEMS or GSMI program. Because these two programs have different deadlines. I guess an applicant that missed the GEMS deadline attempted to try and submit the app by indicating the GSMI program.
