That's one way to motivate people to get vaccinated! This idea must have been thought up by people who actually understand human psychology and what motivates people.

If you want to motivate people you hit them in the pocketbook. Keep insurance companies from paying for their treatment if they catch covid and if they are quarantined for catching covid, then they should be quarantined without pay.

I don't know. Most of the people who aren't getting the vaccine think covid is just the flu, if it's even real at all. They aren't worried about getting sick.

Bad road to go down. Insurance denials for Obesity related problems, smoking related, injuries suffered while intoxicated? Etc.,etc.

We got a memo from our CEO saying mandatory vaccination is on the way. He encouraged those still unvaccinated to get vaccinated voluntarily. Apparently 15% of our staff is still unvaccinated which is shocking among healthcare workers. Anyway, keeping your job is a good motivator.

Or they believe right wing conspiracy theories about the vaccines.

The mandatory vaccination policies have been implemented near me. It changes nothing.

Most of these unvaccinated people are all on the same message boards/news feeds, and they know you only have to do one thing to get out of any mandatory vaccine imposed by your employer: religious exemption. They all have been coached to write this in, and employer just dont challenege it. So nothing changes..

You don't live in the South. Those are rookie numbers for lack of hospital employee vaccination lol.

Going on L&D in the South is like entering another world, which is ironic considering it's not that far from the ICU which has been filled with sick people this whole pandemic. It's weird.

Yep. Our hospital is proud of itself that we have 60% of employees vaccinated.

Lol, our CMO would throw a ticker tape parade if 85% of our hospital employees were vaccinated.

Ours was at 50% vaccinated as of July 23rd.

about 55% on the hospital side and 45% LTC. 100% of physicians then decreasing rate with decreasing level of clinical education.

they won’t make it mandatory. they’re so terrified of losing staff they won’t hold ppl accountable for anything.

At this point we should just let them all get covid and live tasteless lives

I disagree it’s the same. Obesity is a long/hard road to correct- so is smoking or any other addiction. People can decide to get vaccinated tomorrow if they want.

At least they should pay higher premiums.

Exactly you can’t fix any of those issues with a near risk free injection that takes 30 minutes out of your day a month apart. If there was such a fix and people refused that too then that would be perfectly reasonable to deny insurance coverage for easily cured diseases.
