Interviews, you should be fine.Hello Everyone,
I just sent in all my apps! I have a 3.9 sGPA and a 3.85 cgpa. I got a 495 on my mCAT. I have been doing research with fellowships for the last 2 years, over 500 hours of community service, very strong letters of rec, over 500 hours of shadowing and volunteering, I am a founder of a PHIDE medical fraternity at Loyola Chicago, and am VP of 2 clubs at my school!
What are my chances at getting interviews to all of the schools with a good scholarship?
Thank You!
Do you happen to know how much scholarship money for like DMU or Scholl? I'm applying MD/DO next cycle but if that doesn't work out I'd reapply MD/DO and DPM simultaneously. I have a 514 MCAT which is equal to 33 on the old.In most cases a podiatry "scholarship" is really just a ..tuition deferral or a feel-good-teaser / marketing-ploy. Its like when a car dealership tells you the first month is free or they are knocking $X off the price. So yeah, a lot of people are given "scholarships" and if others are actually paying full price then hell - shoot for one of these. My experience, a great MCAT score is associated with higher dollar values. This is actually a great thing because you can change your MCAT score rapidly with hard work. You can't change your GPA without time and money.
I see, thanks for the reply! Do you know any more about the rural scholarship? Rural med is something I'm very interested in, although not really in Iowa.I'm under the impression Scholl can be quite generous - I didn't interview there so I don't know a lot about it. DMU doesn't offer large scholarships (other than the rural scholarship which has strings) - I believe the maximum is in the neighborhood of $4000-5000 and I might be making the $5000 end up. I'm under the impression the school (DMU) feels that if you look at the total price they are still significantly cheaper than most of the other schools because Iowa's cost of living is so low. If you are willing to live with another person then I don't think it would be difficult to have $350 rent.
Hi guys!
So I got my a 486 on my mcat, have a 3.4 cumulative gpa, 3.1 science gpa, over 200 hours of community service, 40 hours of shadowing, and played a d1 sport. what are my chances of getting into pod school?
Are you a necromancer? Just wondering cause of all the dead threads you've been resurrecting. hehehe JK
