Well, I've been talking to my buddies, most of whom lived the stereotypical fratboy college experience, and we'll definitely be going on a spring break trip, though maybe not to Cancun. Still, expect a lot of drinking, drugs, parties, and house music. 🙂

My parents are fine with it too, though I left out some key details that may have changed their mind.

Hope it works out for you. I'd leave out the drugs, but to each their own.

So for spring break, I'm probably going to Cancun with my boys to celebrate our last year together before we begin the rest of our lives. I told them straight up that I don't want to do anything illegal or dangerous. But you know how we are, and you can expect at least one person to do something patently ******ed, and possibly get themselves arrested or killed. Oh well, you only live once.

Anyways, I'm going to go ahead and assume that dead people cannot matriculate to medical school.

So I wanted to ask, if you get arrested and tried for a misdemeanor offense, can a medical school rescind your acceptance? I'm talking about stuff like soliciting a prostitute, possession of illegal substances, drunk and disorderly, driving under influence of intoxicants, etc.

Drunk and Disorderly is let go unless you're destroying property or physically harassing people
You don't need to worry about possession for the most part. But there is a lot of entrapment that happens over drug deals.
There is absolutely no reason to drive in Cancun. The bus is $1 and cabs are about $5

If you get arrested in Cancun, you have something more important to worry about than med school, and that's mexican jail. Contrary to what people believe, Cancun is Las Vegas, Mexico. The police there aren't like other mexican municipalities, and its likely you can't bribe yourself out of trouble.

Cancun is very expensive, and it doesn't sound like youre the type that will enjoy that atmosphere (no offense).

When I was last down in Mexico a few weeks ago I passed by a man with a tattooed face marketing "drugs, bitches, ecstasy, coke, and anything you need." When you an your buddies are down there, just find the tattooed face guy and follow him upstairs - I'm sure he has all of those things.
