Do any of you know of some good forums on here on exactly what you must prepare to apply?
I took the MCAT last Friday and I plan on being ready to apply as soon as possible after I get the results. So I kind of want everything from Letter of Recommendations to getting the AACPM application get going. So any quick suggestions on exactly how you planned and how long it took to get all this stuff situated.
I have emailed my undergrad professors to ask for a letter of recommendation, but do we have to ask our university for transcripts. I haven't done any academic applications since high school so I just want to get everything ready over the next couple weeks before I go back for my final semester at undergrad.
THANKS!

From what I have seen, is that first off you can submit your application before you get your mcat scores back. The application will take time to be verified, so if you submit the application while waiting for your mcat score you may cut down your waiting time for interviews by at least a few weeks because your application will be verified and then they will only be waiting on your mcat score. I started my application the day the portal opened. Listed all of my course work and podiatry experiences, etc. The application requires official transcripts from the university. So if your school has a transcript request form fill it out and print off the transcript request form on AACPM. You will need this for them to place your transcript with your online application. The LOR need to go to the schools themselves, so email your references and give them the address to either mail or electronically send the LOR in. If you have your PS done, you can type this into the online application right away as well. The application can take as short as a day or so. So if you get all your ducks lined up you will be just fine. Sending in your transcripts will take sometime FYI be patient. Hope this helps. Good luck.

You go to State, right? You can send transcripts electronically (or by mail) at reg.msu.edu/transcripts

Just make sure you have paid your registration bill for this fall otherwise your classes for fall 2013/spring 2014 won't show on the transcript.

On a side note, have you taken kin 330?

THANKS!!!!
And no, I have not taken KIN 330. I am a Physio major and never took that class. From what I have heard of that class is that the grading scale is in favor of the students, not like my physio and biochem classes. A friend of mine took that class and she said that she averaged a 65% on exams and still got a 4.0.

Ah, I'm just deciding on what to take for some electives and that seemed like a good option since biomechanics is such a big part of podiatry. But that sounds brutal..

But again, there are many people up at State that would think in the realm more of: Take a class that makes it easier on me to get accepted into the program I want. Instead of taking a class that would be beneficial for your future, but hurt your grades.

That's one way to think of it, though my electives will all be upper level science anyways so whichever classes I take should help regardless. I'd take it more to see if I enjoy biomechanics.

Also for letters of rec I highly recommend you purchase an interfolio subscription. It makes things easier for you and your submitter. I have no knowledge of what your relationship is with your professors but if you don't hear back from them via email soon go track them down in person.

I am attempting to get my Letter of Recommendations from my teachers, but they are asking where to send it to. I have heard of the Interfolio, but exactly how do you get the account. So before I pay the $20 for it I want to make sure this is the site most of you guys used for this https://account.interfolio.com/dossier/signup and then what to do

This is the first time using Electronic LOR stuff so I just want to get it correct.

Yeah that's the one you want. Once you make an account you fill out a request form which gets emailed to your letter writers. That email gives them the instructions to either submit it electronically or to mail it in.

Thanks. Second after I posted that comment I made an account at Interfolio then I talked to my four professors I am asking for a letter of recommendation and gave them my personal letter to Podiatry school, resume/CV, and told them I was using Interfolio. Lucky for me, each of those professors returned my email within 24 hours after my email to them.

And for the transcripts, do you have MSU send them to AACPM's address on their home page?

In the AACPM application there is a section where you can look at the transcript request form they generate and it has the address on it.
