So if you're cheap and want to buy the old one at a discount from the bookstore is it worth it? Is the new one really different enough or vastly superior?

Wow I must have spaced out, I meant I have the second and compared it with the third.

I've never seen the first edition before.

Even though I've been using the 2nd for the first year of med school, I just upgraded to the 3rd edition. I actually like it a lot - a lot more pictures and such. The pages are a little bigger and there are occasional blue boxes that aren't in the 2nd edition that just explain things in a little more detail. I think it helps more comprehension.

If it's a matter of money only ($35 vs. $10), it's a no brainer: go for 3rd edition.

Yeah my roommate just got the third and it sure is prettier...

I'm trying to convince myself that there isn't that much of a difference in detail, and that I can just look at more images from google and other medschools...
