I have one year of undergraduate studies left and im going to finish with 6-8 bio courses. I have nothing else but bio classes left and biochem for this last year. Should I take easy, nonscience courses to boost my GPA, Doesnt it seem weird to have extra nonsciences for no reason, and do they make that much of a difference?

Also, I have the option of finishing a chem minor if I do all the biochem series, Should I do it or not, im already a double major. Finishing the chem minor would been I have a senior year of 3 quarters instead of finishing early in 2 quarters. My advisor cant really help me here.

Let me know what you think. Thanks

If you think you can handle the extra non science classes then go ahead and take them. It won't look weird at all if you have more classes; if anything, it'll make you look more well-rounded.

Remember that science classes will raise your Ogpa as well, so if you got straight A's in those science classes it'd look much better than if you had A's in non science. For example, if you had 5 science classes with all A's, it'd be much better than 5 science and 2 non science classes with all A's and then a B in one of the Sciences.

At my school, they say the minor doesn't even go on the diploma and it will only help on job resumes. We don't necessarily have a resume, and most ADCOMs think we all have minors anyway considering the Chems needed to be completed for the prerequisite.

thanks. id much rather take bio extra classes or some other science that i think is interesting that having to be bound to the demands of the chem minor. I think that I look well rounded since I will graduate with an Anthropology and a Biology degree. Im just trying to make up my GPA because when I started I started at the Cal state that I am in now I didn't have my classes prioritized too well and that messed me up. My anthro gpa is exceptional, but my science gpa is average. I have one year to make a turn-around. I have to take classes that I enjoy because I will do my best in those, too bad I already took Neuro.

Hey I'm in the same position, and it seems that many people are after freshmen year hit them like a ton of bricks! My study habits were very poor coming in and I have been on an incline since then, and studying for the DAT helped show what it takes to achieve.

Now let's pull off these 4.0s and finish strong! 🙂
