Hey guys! I've been on this site for a while just keeping up to date with acceptances and people's comments. I just wanted to let you know that I received an acceptance offer from University of Florida (UF) today on 02/01/2016 and I will be accepting! Just in case anyone was wondering when you'll hear back! Anyone else attending? Let me know 🙂

When did you submit?! You're the second person I've seen post about acceptance there, so I'm getting anxious!

WanderingPT, I submitted my application early August! It got verified by UF early October and I hadn't heard back from them until yesterday when they emailed me an Acceptance offer. I don't know anyone else who has been accepted, so don't fret! Hopefully you'll hear back soon 🙂

I'm on the alternate list as well. I'm in-state, so I'm really hoping to get accepted for financial reasons. When I was at the interview, I talked to a few people who were also looking strongly at Creighton and Mayo Clinic, so I do believe some spots will open up. Have faith!

That helps a lot! I have very similar GPA stats, but I haven't taken the GRE yet. I'm applying to basically all those schools as well.

The interview process.
This. Grades and GRE can only get you so far, interviews are in place for a reason. I bombed the interview pretty hard (it was my first), haha. Subsequent ones went WAY better!

I've already submitted my deposit to MSJ and it's around $30,000 cheaper than Marymount so it's not looking likely. I liked the school but I'll save a lot of money by going to MSJ when you include cost of living expenses as well.

ACCEPTED: Shenandoah
WAITLISTED: Marymount

I did poorly at the Marymount interview--I'm surprised I got waitlisted and not outright rejected. Probably just the grades at work. Had a poor experience with my interviewer (last session (of 3!!) that day), and she didn't seem to respond well to me (I'm usually fairly decent at interviews, for jobs and otherwise, but I was off my game and I can only imagine interviewing that many people in a single day). You could tell they are really looking for team-oriented people here...not really my jam.

So it looks like I'm off to Shenandoah! I did like Shenandoah's program better, but Marymount would've been more convenient logistically. I'm happy with how it all worked out and looking forward to learning the trade at SU.

That's understandable. I live ten minutes away from Marymount, so that's in my favor. I am still waiting to hear back from a few other schools. Received 3 more interview invitations and a waitlist this week already. It is kind of nice having to pick now!

Kinda unhappy with my GRE since I got mid-150's on every practice exam, but really really really didn't want to retake it if I didn't have to. I got myself into a bit of a hole freshman year with my GPA hovering around 3.0 and have slowly but surely raising it each semester so hopefully that's taken into account (3.8 and 3.4 my last two semesters).

Have you heard back from any Michigan schools?!

I've been following this thread for a couple years now so thought I should finally post something. This is my 2nd time applying and I retook some (a lot of) prereqs and got a ton more experience working as an aide since last cycle. I'm definitely one of those people who had to bring my prereq GPA up and I definitely didn't have a whole lot of hope for myself, but maybe this will show some of you with lower GPAs that if you really want to be in PT it is possible to turn things around! I'm super open to any questions regarding anything in this post!

That's the one I'm gonna attend too!

Me too! Very Excited!

Glad to meet fellow students 🙂 I'm currently trying to sort out how close to Leesburg my fiancé and I can move without him having a nightmarish commute to work (it is in the opposite direction of Leesburg, much closer to DC, and if you are not from the area, you will soon learn that our traffic is a special kind of hell DC residents learn to endure).

If you guys need any help with figuring out where to live, etc., let me know. I'm a local 🙂
