Any tips for the UCF interview? They are a top choice for me

Any tips for the UCF interview? They are a top choice for me
I would just go into it trying to be as relaxed as possible. They have a whole list of situational questions that are hard to prepare for, so my advice is just to think about your experiences and what you learned from them, think of different patients you met while observing, etc. everyone is super nice and it's very low stress so just relax and be yourself! I know that's not very specific but the questions were really all over the place (but not hard). Good luck!! :)

Awesome thanks! I heard the questions are "all over the place" from students that applied last year too. One student said she was given a group exercise to do with 2 other students to possibly observe leadership or cooperation skills.

I'd say be yourself during the interview process. The faculty and students are very welcoming. The interviews are group interviews, it was two interviewees, two faculty and a current pt student. The interview questions were pretty standard and was somewhat catered to your supplemental form. They chose me and another candidate with similar backgrounds and there were roughly 5 questions. One question you and the other candidate had scenarios where you had to demonstrate problem solving skills. The interviewers want to see whether you're a good fit for the school or not, so just be yourself and see if you want to attend Stony Brook. I'd say take a deep breath and try to relax, it was smooth sailing.

I toured UIW in July to learn more about the program and faculty before applying. Met with the associate dean, we chatted for a long while about the program. After leaving the tour, UIW shifted to my number 1 choice for schools.

I will be transitioning career fields from full time recruiter for the National Guard to broke DPT student and future BAMF DPT! Super excited to start this new chapter in life! UIWSoPT 2021
Advice: make it happen! I almost didn't apply this cohort because I had so much left to do when July rolled around.

Good luck!

how was Mount st Joseph's interview? i was supposed to go to the one on the 17th but had to move it to january because of a conflict with another school.

It is somewhat tough. Each group of students gets assigned a different faculty member, student and a local PT. So, in reality, your questions could be completely different than mine were. But, I would say, know why you want to go to MSJ and show your passion for being a DPT

When did you hear back from Columbia?

I submitted on 10/24 and heard back from them on 11/6! Their deadline is fast approaching so they probably have a ton of applications coming in at this time so I wouldn't stress too much about it.

Congrats on the second acceptance from a fellow Kentuckian!

Have you heard anything from Youngstown or Marshall?

Thank you!! Why didn't you apply to any Kentucky schools?? haha

I have not heard from either since their confirmation emails. It seems as though Youngstown will be sending out acceptances within the next week or so. As of Marshall, I have not received an interview invite or anything yet.

Most of the KY programs wanted some prereqs that I didn't want to end up taking. I considered UK though. I live in Eastern KY, but central/Western KY in your direction is much nicer.

I haven't either, I was getting worried. You're the only person I've seen post about Marshall and Youngstown other than myself. If you hear from them, let me know!

Congrats on Chatham again!
