That’s interesting they made you do a pre phone interview

From my understanding, you want to list your top choice because there’s more than One USA location. You list your top choice and then you have to let them know if you get placed on a waitlist for that top school, if you want to remain on the waitlist for that school or see if a spot is open for you at a different location. You can’t be waitlisted at one school and trying to go for another spot at a different campus.
Oh so this is in terms of which campus? not between different programs?
Wait you didnt need to do pre-phone interview? Did you apply for fall?

Congrats Dr. Dough, I also got my USA Austin Fall acceptance email yesterday.

Are you a Texas native or coming from out of state?
Also do you plan on committing to U.S.A? Or are you waiting to hear back from other schools?

Congrats again:clap:

I am coming from Colorado! I am still waiting to hear back from a few more schools but would be 100% ecstatic with moving to Austin! Congrats on your acceptance as well!! Are you committing, or waiting to hear back also?

I was deferred from south college until the application cycle ended. I also just received an interview for Dominican College! I haven't heard from anyone else. Have you heard from anywhere? Good luck!!
I haven't heard yet... Let me know if you get any updates! I hope the interview went well at Wheeling.

Yup! It’s for which campus and you do have to mention whether it’s residential or flex. I’m doing residential for the fall and I didn’t have to do a pre phone interview. Just got an email for an invite to interview at San Marcos campus and that was all.

I thought you could only apply to one campus? So I only applied to San Marcos.
Hmm... I wonder why I had to do pre-phone interview then...

I am still waiting to hear back from a few schools, one in particular not until January. I will definitely be securing my seat at USA. I live in Houston, which is a few hours from Austin. My aunt also lives 15 minutes from the Austin campus, so thankfully I already have a place to live if I attend USA.

I'm in the same boat. Coming up from Central Texas for Jan 2019 start at USA. Paid my deposit, but waiting on 3 schools that are a third of the cost. Decided to not secure an apartment yet. Will do an Extended Stay the first month in case one of the others come through.

I applied in september and about a week later was notified that my application was deferred until the application deadline ends
What does that mean exactly? That they won't review it until all applications are received?

This was for the September 2019 start. I was looking at my notes, and I think I found that, in years past, some offers went out in Sept/Oct for the following year. I got an email, then a formal pack in the mail (about 1 week ago). I will be emailing them this week to decline, so hopefully that frees up a spot!

Ah I see! I wonder if they accept people every month! But I was just told February is when they would start! That’s interesting! Well either ways congrats and thanks for your input!

I heard from someone that they "review" applications every month, but i am not sure what that means.

Waitlist: Chapman - summer (declined)
Acceptances: APU (10/10), Touro Nevada (11/20), MSMU (12/2)

*Although my stats are average, I believe what got me my acceptances were making sure my extracurricular activities, observation hours, and recommenders were diverse. I also asked a few PT students to help me along the way. Finally, talk to admissions I asked so many questions I knew the answer already but did it anyways so they knew I am very interested. Literally have threads of conversations since July with different admissions departments.

Best of luck everyone!

Which term for APU were you accepted into? Jan 2020?

I really liked the program/professors at Drexel and being in Philly. The only thing I wasn't sold on was the old buildings and classrooms. For me personally I can't see myself enjoying spending most of my days over the next few years in them, but again its a personal preference.

Welcome to the club ;)

Hi! I applied to Franklin Pierce as well. When did you hear back about the rejection? Did they say why? I have similar stats as you.
Hi! I heard back in late October I think. It was something about my gpa not reaching their minimum which I thought I met. But I guess not :/ could be from my retakes being calculcated differently or the science gpa. Idk.

Hi everyone! I graduate/ finish my pre-reqs in about a year and a half and will begin applying to PT programs. However, I need some advice about observation hours. I have already completed some shadowing hours; however, I was offered an opportunity to be an RBT (registered behavior technician) at a school for disabled children. I have always had my mind set on earning hours as a rehab technician to make my application more competitive.... Should I take the RBT route or will PT schools rather see rehab tech hours?

I appreciate any tips! Good luck on apps. :)

I think that as long as you meet the minimum number of shadowing hours required you'll be okay. Schools use a point system when evaluating your application meaning the more extracurriculars such as jobs/volunteering you have, the more points you have and the more competitive you will be
