Add Creighton's interview date, one of my secondary schools but still excited!

How did FIU notify you of your interview? I haven't heard anything yet!

FIU sent me an email today for something called "early interview period". Basically you can pick an interview date before Dec. and be accepted before the "regular" pool in January, or you will just be deferred to the regular pool if you don't get an early acceptance.

@dptmechanic: May I ask when did you apply for Creighton??

No problem uh let's see 8/27 PTCAS sent, due to GRE mishap (used last years code) Creighton finalized last week, email today 10/8 for interview.

Well now I'm stressed out! I applied super early and was sure I could expect an interview soon. Good luck though that's awesome! I visited FIU earlier this year and it was a really nice school.

Awesome! Congrats! When did you hear from nova, and when did you submit your supplemental?

Awesome! Congrats! When did you hear from nova, and when did you submit your supplemental?

I submitted my supplemental a week or 2 after my PTCAS was verified, which was the end of August... so around Sept 7th. I got my acceptance today, I called the number I received in my email for "application status updates" and they transferred me to Monica. Monica formally gave me my acceptance and told me I will received emailed docs shortly. Hope that helps!

Right on! Mine was submitted on 9/27, so hopefully I will hear in a few weeks. Very exciting times. I'm meeting Monica to tour the campus on Friday, since I'm flying down from Cali to see family in the area. What makes you want Nova more than the program at UM?

Umm nothing particular I know a few people in the UM program and a few in the Nova program. Both are very well prepared. Obviously, UM is much higher rated but Nova has a 100% NPTE pass rate this last year as well. I also know some of the faculty at Nova which I observed under. But mainly I grew up in SoFla and live here now. I live 10 minutes from Nova and would have to move to Miami because the drive from Broward is pretty impractical with long days of class, labs and clinical. Its much cheaper to live where I do now and only pay tuition.

Congrats on Touro I just applied there as well! Did they contact you when your application was received? They are the only school I applied to that has not yet contacted me and it has been about a month- and also, was there not an interview? Thank you!
Yes they did email me when they received it and again when the admissions forwarded my app to the committee for review. Also no interview! Did you apply to both campuses? Good luck!

My freshman year (and first semester junior year) GPA is killing me, but I'm hoping (as most in this situation), the admissions boards will look at my more current grades. I'm finishing up chem 1 and physics 1 this fall, with chem 2 and physics 2 in the spring.

People have some real good GPAs (congrats) from browsing this, so hopefully they can look at the collective app. Any wise words of wisdom, or encouragement?

Good luck to all.

Yea no problem. Around Oct 14. They told me at the time it was really early though and I was apparently only the second person to be notified of an acceptance. I don't know how true that is, but I do know they told me they will fill 50 spots for the class. Good luck!

I'm glad its just a waiting game now, this was a frustrating process. I had a poor first 2 years in undergrad, and have spent an additional 2 years after graduating taking pre-reqs and retaking courses to atone for my GPA from my first 4 semesters. My post bac GPA is a 4.0 for 24 credits, and my Last 60 GPA is something like a 3.8. I've noticed that I am much less competitive for many of the schools that just take my PTCAS pre-req GPA than for the schools that calculate their own pre-req GPA. I called a few schools that do their own calculations for this and my pre-req is usually between a 3.4-3.7, which I hope will give me a shot. I took my time on each of the essays, and will be doing some more inpatient observation hours to get more variety in there. I'm also debating whether to add 2 developing programs (Wingate, George Fox) to the list to boost my chances. I'll update as I hear back. Any feedback or speculation on my stats is welcome.

I applied to Touro Manhattan early decision and was bumped to regular admission. Was accepted a week later! The way I see it is that the school knows you are already interested in going only there so if you meet all the requirements I'm sure you will get in especially since you applied so early when there was many spots open.
Hey all,

Was wondering what everyone thinks if you apply for Early Decision and they bump you to regular admission. Anyone know anyone with luck getting into that same program even under this circumstance?
