University: Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)
Major: Early Chilldhood / Elementary Education
Overall GPA: 3.92 (when I graduated)
Overall GPA now: 3.89 (after taking my pre-reqs)
Pre-Req GPA: 3.83 (Sci & Math), 3.79 (Sci), 3.72 (all pre-reqs)
GRE:
420V, 640Q, 4.5A
490V, 590Q, 4.5A
460V, 630Q, 5.0A

Extra-Curric: I am a certified spinning instructor, Les Mills BodyPump instructor, CPR/AED/First Aid certified, during my undergrad I did a lot of volunteer work/activities/part-time jobs, but since I am now in the "real world" I work 40 hours a week and teach 6 exercise classes a week.

Volunteer: 100+ hours of volunteer work between Out-patient, In-patient, pediatrics, visiting nurses association, etc, etc. I have seen almost all of it with the few volunteering stints I did.

(I noticed a lot of people have WAY more volunteer hours... that is so commendable... Since I am "older" and work full-time M-F I don't have much time for volunteering, especially when most clinics/hospital PTs are done by 3-4pm... Hopefully not having as many hours won't be a downfall...)

Applied: Chatham University, Pitt, Duquesne University (All in Pittsburgh, PA)

Thanks jbizzle. With some of these acceptances starting to roll in, I have already knocked certain programs off of the list and I my total list is down to 4-5 programs. The congrats is much appreciated. I'm just....:soexcited:. Lol!

Thanks! I heard from Chatham early since I am a student at Chatham. Dr. Downey said the official letters should be going out this week. The information was sent to admissions so it really depends on our post office... which could be a while. Haha. I really hope you get in!! We can be classmates! (Unless you decide to go to Pitt.)

Arvest, when did you e-submit PTCAS?

I know the website says to wait 6-8, but I am not good at being patient and it's been a month already and I have a program with a Dec. 15th deadline, so I feel like I'm cutting it close, haha.

I e-submitted on October 31st on a Sunday, lol! It took exactly 27 days to verify my application and they mailed it on November 30! 2 schools have already contacted me about receiving my application! I guess they expressed mailed mine or something, lol! But hey don't worry! It's hard to be patient but what other choice do we have? Do you wanna know what I do to keep my mind occupied during all of this?

Ummm...somehow there's a creepy tone to this lol. Now I'm curious to know.

Oh and BTW. At my interview I've met some people that already got accepted to Wash U-St. Louis. So they have been contacting applicants already...I don't know how far along they are in filling the seats or anything and they didn't mention when they submitted their app.

Guess I better eat my own words... Just got an acceptance email (with formal letter to follow) from Chatham University (12-2-10). 😀😀😀😀😀

lol....hold on man....wait for her to ask "What?" lmao

Wow..OK. Anyway. Yeah I sent mine Nov 4th so I'm jealous that they processed yours so quickly. However, a friend of mine and I applied to the same school (Marymount), and with their Dec 1st deadline, it is PTCAS's job if they haven't processed your app and sent it off for them to do it within a week of the program deadline, so mine should be up within the next few days I assume.

Just to say again, congrats to everyone who has been accepted to programs! I know for me, it's hard to believe programs would want me and I sometimes I catch myself making comparisons to other applicants and wishing I had done more. But everyone on here seems to be getting exciting news one way or another and you guys deserve a big congrats!!

PTCAS sent my app 3 weeks after my first deadline. Still gets there. PTCAS simply won't let you select a school to send your app to once the deadline has passed.

PT2014, I understand that. I think there's a little confusion. I added Marymount before the Dec 1st deadline...but anyway, I guess I spoke too soon because I just received the email that they processed my GPA and will be sending it out the next mailing date (which I think we have come to the conclusion that it's a Tuesday). So here's the update according to PTCAS:

GPA: 3.8
Pre-req GPA: 3.77
GRE: 450V, 600Q 4.5
Programs applied: Marymount, UNF, FIU, Nova, NU, Mayo, Columbia

Hopefully I'll hear news before Christmas!
