GPA's, GRE's, XTRA's, ACCEPTANCES

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Has anyone applied to Temple University? It is the only school that hasn't confirmed that they have received my PTCAS.
I sent in all my materials almost a month ago and it still hasn't been confirmed by the site or anything. I called and they said that if you sent it in they probably have it. If you really want to make sure, e-mail Dr. Carp which was provided on their PTCAS section.

I submitted my application for PTCAS to enter coursework on 9/4. Unfortunately it took until 9/24 for them to finish and I was able to confirm it was correct and submit my application for verification. It was verified on 10/3 and I have already received an invite for interview at Columbia. Hope the info helps someone, the process gave me a lot of anxiety but things do come together before you know it.

Thanks! thats good to know that after the verification things start moving fast. Best of luck to you!

I've heard back from 2 schools with interviews at each. Shows that's stats aren't everything I suppose. My best advice would be to select schools based on your strengths/what they look for. DO YOUR RESEARCH. And dazzle them with your essays.

Wow, good luck with your interviews! I have similar stats as you, so hopefully I hear back from some schools as well!

Thank you! I E-mailed him today. Its been weeks since it was sent out I just thought it was strange to not hear anything from them like I did the other school.

Got rejected and wait listed by many school last year, strengthened my app a bit and did early decision this year.

If anyone is on the edge I highly suggest doing ED, greatly increases your chances

Hey! You have great stats best of luck to you! I have reapplied to pt school and decided to take this year off, this may be a dumb question but can you clarify what you mean by doing ED? How does that increase your chance? Thank you!

Generally, you are applying against a much smaller pool of applicants. Your application has a better chance of being completely reviewed versus just examined for GPA/GRE. The schools like ED because it shows you are committed to their particular program versus applying all every PT program you can and not caring about where you go. They also don't have to "sell" you on their program versus others. You are already committed so if a school offers you a slot, they will see you in the next class (less shuffling and balancing of the class).

Thank you for your response!! That makes a lot of sense 🙂 can you apply to more than one school for early decision or is it just one?

I'm also planning on retaking my Anatomy in the Spring since that was my only C of my science classes. What do you guys think of my chances of getting in? I'm afraid the C in Anatomy is really going to hurt my chances. My last 60 units are significantly higher than my other GPAs (around a 3.6-3.7) but I'm not sure if any of the colleges I'm applying to consider that.

Any feedback would be great!

Anyone know what date they are currently verifying or how long I should expect if I submitted on 9/27?

I applied to the University of Wisconsin-Madison...and I'm realizing how important the culture of the school I go to is for me. I have never visited this school before, and they do not require interviews. They are supposed to let me know between December 15- 24 about their decision. Would you recommend visiting? Would you wait till you were accepted to visit - since money is a factor?

Thank you!

When are you graduating from your undergrad? I am graduating in spring 2016 and also applied for USF. I'm a little confused after just reading some information on USF's PT website. It says that a bachelor's degree is required for admission, but I am not receiving it until this coming spring. Is this acceptable? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

You just need to have graduated from undergrad before you start the program

Yupp! We'll be graduated and have our bachelor's degree in late April/beginning of May which is before PT schools start. After graduating though you need to send schools your final transcript so that they can see you still did well even though you got accepted to a school, and that you fulfilled your undergraduate requirements to get your bachelor's. I hope this helped!

Also have an interview with University of Miami in November.

Is it normal to get waitlisted this early on in the process? I felt my interview was very strong, and I'm not one to normally give myself positive feedback (I demand more from myself). I'm trying to stay motivated and encouraged..and just wonder if there is something I could be doing differently or better.
