What was the Usciences interview like? What kind of questions were asked

Oh gosh, I submitted everything September 27th and was verified I think 3 weeks after that!
Thank you! I submitted the first week of October and was verified a few weeks later. I know they have rolling admissions, so I was just trying to get an idea of when I'd hear from them. I guess it'll be soon. Congratulations again!

What was the Usciences interview like? What kind of questions were asked
^^^ I should have worded that better...it was "waitlist for an interview" --- They said they will be notifying those waitlisted in February if there are spots now for an interview....
Never heard of such a thing but I suppose better than a "no" -- sorry for the confusion!

UPDATE: Rejections

Extra Curricular: Competed regionally and nationally on a motorsports team for 7 years (2007-13) - finished 2nd in NASCAR Division III National points in 2013. In 2014 and 2015 managed a national touring Sprint Car team (30-50 hours/week pretty much all year round). Started a graphic design business from the ground up (2014). KSU intramural sports. Campus ministry student leader. First Aid/CPR/AED certified.

Observation: 116 hours (outpatient clinic, surgical center, in-patient rehab @ hospital)

Applied: Duke, Florida International, Northwestern, Ohio State, University of Iowa, KU Medical Center, Miami, Nebraska Medical Center, and South Carolina.

Interviews: Miami (11/20), Nebraska Medical Center (12/18)

Accepted: Northwestern (11/17)

Rejected: Iowa (12/30), KU Med (1/8), Ohio State (1/20)

Really hoping for a response from Nebraska Medical Center soon. This would be my in-state (and much more affordable) option. Northwestern needs a non-refundable $1,000 deposit by 1/29 and if I get into Nebraska, I will most likely turn down the Northwestern offer.

A week ago, I was accepted to Nova - Fort Lauderdale. They were a last minute addition to my list of schools, so I'm hoping to hear back from others soon. Don't get me wrong, it feels good to finally get in somewhere, but Nova isn't exactly my first pick. Unfortunately, the deadline for their deposit is the 25th and I still have three more interviews to attend in the next few weeks. I also interviewed at Utah last week and feel pretty good about it - I hope to hear back from them soon. If I am accepted to Utah, I will most likely decline all other interviews.

wow. good for you! third times a charm!

Will you be turning 24 this year? Reason being, if you are under 24... You have to submit your parents tax returns or something which could affect your need based awards. The lady in the email said they offer modest need based scholarships, you also can be a graduate resident assistant or something... It's like a 20-25 hour a week commitment though. I think they also have work study. Too bad we couldn't get the merit scholarship...
Yeah I turn 24 in August, but anything I could get would help. Well just have to see during the info session. What date are you going?

I've been watching your posts and am super pumped to hear you got accepted somewhere!! CONGRATS!

I'll never understand how PT schools decide. I am pretty high on Ohio States wait list (which they typically use 50% of every year), but I got wait listed at OU.. Best of luck to you though on all of your possible waitlist acceptances... I'm sure it will be a stressful wait for the both of us.

Has anyone been rejected from New York Medical College? And if so did you find out by email or letter in the mail?

Which Rutgers did you prefer? Just out of curiosity

I liked Newark, its not in the best area lol but the program seemed more fitting to me. They had a great motion analysis set up and I'm really into that. Rutgers South was also nice, its really a personal feeling honestly.

Yeah, it's crazy to think about. Someone was accepted to Pitt but then denied acceptance at OU. It's crazy to figure out how each school decides.
Congrats on getting into Ohio State!! Is that your first choice?
May I ask your what your stats are and where you are doing you undergrad?

Best of luck to you! 🙂

I'm not in yet, I gotta make it through about 10 spots on the waitlist. I really like OU and I'm top 1/4 on their waitlist, so I am not sure which I would pick if I end up getting in. Dr. Buford said I have great chances on OSU, but I know nothing about how much of the waitlist OU typically uses.

Congrats so much! That is awesome! Did they tell you what they liked about your application? How many times have you applied before? I had a 3.8 and got on the alternate list. Thanks so much!

I didn't get any feedback. I'm assuming my interview really helped me out. I tried not give any generic answers to questions and be truthful. For example, when asked about why I wanted to be a DPT I answered "peer pressure". I explained that in my circle of friends I was the only one who wasn't in the field of rehabilation. Hearing their stories, how they were trying to make changes, and advancing their careers through specialty training (such as NDT & Nuero-Ifrah)is what led me to learn more about what a PT was and how they can make lasting, meaningful changes. The coming answer to those types of questions typically is "I want to help people".

Also, I had really strong letters of recommendation.

I have been following this thread for sometime, and thought I would jump in because things are getting serious, and I have some questions.

First off..my stats:
Overall GPA: 3.31
Post-undergrad GPA: 4.0
Pre-req GPA: 3.43
GRE:
V-
154
Q-150
W- 4.0
Hours: 300 outpatient in 2 settings, 100 inpatient/acute.

Applied: A bunch lol.
Interviewed: Marshall, UMES, South College, Methodist University
Rejected: Shenandoah, Marymount (didn't qualify), Indiana st.
Wait listed: Elon
Accepted: South College. Not really excited, because of their online style, but oh well, you take what you get and hope for better!

Okay, now my questions:

1. Did anyone have issues with USA's app? Like you submitted things and they were never "received", and you could never get through to anyone!? I'm thinking about asking if they can just switch my application to a diff admission cycle, sense they failed on their end.
2. Did anyone hear from Lynchburg, Thomas Jeff, or WVU? Don't want bug them if they haven't yet sent out any notifications.

Thanks in advance!

Rejection, interview, and acceptance!

A good buddy of mine shot me a text late this evening, wondering whether or not he should be expecting to see me at Pacific University for interviews. All day I've been checking my inbox to see if there were any updates, and haven't received any news. I was a bit worried because he had already gotten an interview invitation to Colorado the same day I was rejected. I thought to myself, "Here's another rejection..," until I opened my e-mail. There it was: Invitation to Interview Day-Pacific University, sent only minutes earlier. But what stuck out more to me, despite the subject line from Pacific, was an e-mail from Utah. Final Decision , University of Utah.

Before I could process the much anticipated interview invitation for Pacific, I opened the e-mail from Utah. I took a deep breath and a long pause because I knew the moment that I read the e-mail, my life was about to change. Utah is my number two choice out of the 20+ that received an application from me, rivaled only by the local U of Washington. I got in. I still can't believe it, I got in! My deposit will be sent next week. I still plan to interview with Pacific and George Fox since they're only a few hours away from Seattle, but it's hard to imagine an out-of-state school that will change my mind.

I will be cancelling my trips to Iowa, Mayo, and Montana. So I hope that others may be able to gain from my declined invitations. Good luck everybody!

I also interviewed at Marshall. What were your thoughts on the school and its program? I really enjoyed it!! They said they would get back to us early February, but I know the past years they have always let people know the last week of January. I am hoping they just said early February to give them more time, but I really hope we find out this week!! What do you think?

Congrats! I was really hoping for an acceptance from Utah, but unfortunately I did not receive one. This is my 4th time applying(first time to Utah), and so I've also experienced the intense rollercoaster of emotions that goes along with applying multiple times. Anyways I have 2 interviews remaining and 8 schools to hear back from still, so hopefully this will be my last year of dealing with this.

I'd also be curious to hear from anyone who is on the wait list for the University of Utah? I'm assuming there is one, unless it just hasn't been specified yet?

I heard from lynchburg about a month and a half ago! Got accepted & sent a deposit in but ended up getting accepted to a much cheaper school so just declined my offer. Its a great school!! I think it would be good if you contacted them 🙂.

I know what you mean. I applied pretty much to the same schools twice in a row and never made it in. Even though I improve significantly on my re-applications, the schools couldn't provide explicit feedback describing why I wasn't able to get in. No obvious weaknesses or deficits whatsoever. I figured it was time to expand my options and I'm glad that others were able to see what my previous schools could not. Good luck and constantly seek ways to improve yourself! You'll do great.

I really liked it. IF I have to go out of state, I will certainly choose them. The staff is extremely accomplished, and personable. I also like how they have their own building. I am also hoping that they let us know this week, I would rather not put my deposit on South, as it is my last choice out of the schools I was interviewed for.

It's nice to have atleast one offer tho! I am still waiting for my first.. I hope I get one. I really liked the faculty, campus and program. I would love to go there! So I am really hoping for good news. What was your thoughts on the interview process?
