GPA's, GRE's, XTRA's, ACCEPTANCES

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's nice to have atleast one offer tho! I am still waiting for my first.. I hope I get one. I really liked the faculty, campus and program. I would love to go there! So I am really hoping for good news. What was your thoughts on the interview process?

It was extremely laid back, like the most of any I have done. My particular small group faculty member asked us only like 3-4 questions, so it felt more like a conversation than an "interview". I had feeling they were just looking for stand-outs, and making sure the highly qualified at least had personalities. What did you think?

Yea, I agree. I loved how laid back it was, it made it easy to be myself, so hopefully they were able to discern between candidates. My group interview was also a couple questions so it was more of just conversation between a few candidates and the faculty member. I just hope I stood out to them. I don't really know exactly what they were looking for. It seemed like everyone in my group was good at conversing and were pleasant people to be with.

I have been following this thread for sometime, and thought I would jump in because things are getting serious, and I have some questions.

First off..my stats:
Overall GPA: 3.31
Post-undergrad GPA: 4.0
Pre-req GPA: 3.43
GRE:
V-
154
Q-150
W- 4.0
Hours: 300 outpatient in 2 settings, 100 inpatient/acute.

Applied: A bunch lol.
Interviewed: Marshall, UMES, South College, Methodist University
Rejected: Shenandoah, Marymount (didn't qualify), Indiana st.
Wait listed: Elon
Accepted: South College. Not really excited, because of their online style, but oh well, you take what you get and hope for better!

Okay, now my questions:

1. Did anyone have issues with USA's app? Like you submitted things and they were never "received", and you could never get through to anyone!? I'm thinking about asking if they can just switch my application to a diff admission cycle, sense they failed on their end.
2. Did anyone hear from Lynchburg, Thomas Jeff, or WVU? Don't want bug them if they haven't yet sent out any notifications.

Thanks in advance!
Just got waitlisted at Lynchburg on Friday

Did anyone who was offered an interview or accepted to UCF have Introductory Biology I and II instead of General Biology I and II like they say?

Did anyone who applied to UCF NOT hear any sort of decision from the program? Their last interview date is Jan. 29th, and I haven't heard a single thing (rejection, interview offer, wait-list) from admissions. I have an interview now at Regis on the same date, so I would likely decline UCF if I were to get an offer, I just think it's a bit unprofessional that I haven't heard anything a week before their last interview. Sure, I may be rejected, but I'd like to know either way. Has anyone else had this problem with any programs?

I was placed on the waitlist for Pitt on 12/16/15.

The email also informed me that "At this time the Wait List is not ranked; however, the list will be revisited in mid-late March. The review of the Wait List is a complex, multi-faceted process, as such there may not be any changes to your status until April or May. As a result, we ask for your patience during the process and kindly request that you refrain from inquiries regarding your status."

I have an interview at Western for Feb 11th. I have not heard back from Thomas Jefferson yet either but that might be because I applied there late.

I'm not in yet, I gotta make it through about 10 spots on the waitlist. I really like OU and I'm top 1/4 on their waitlist, so I am not sure which I would pick if I end up getting in. Dr. Buford said I have great chances on OSU, but I know nothing about how much of the waitlist OU typically uses.

You seem like a cool person. Best of luck to you! I spoke to a guy today who is going to OU for PT school and he said he has several friends that are not sure/are in limbo about where they want to go...who got into OU. Hope that makes you feel better!!

Do you guys think it's worth going to a big, well known out of state university over a smaller less known in state school?

Do you guys think it's worth going to a big, well known out of state university over a smaller less known in state school?
I think you would have to decide this based on what you want to do with your career. In the long run, a DPT degree is a DPT degree no matter where you get it from. However, bigger schools can offer more opportunities and connections that may help you in the long run depending on what exactly you want to do.

Very excited to have finally been accepted into physical therapy school. My first couple semesters of college were very rough for me. I decided to work harder to receive better grades and it definitely worked. Each semester my GPA increased and my most recent semester I received a 4.0. Work hard to get A's and research schools acceptance statistics before applying to determine if you are competitive or not! Researching this website helped a lot in the application process. Use it!

just received an invitation to interview at Stony Brook!! better late than never haha

anyone interview there already?! what was it like?

U P D A T E 1/20:
First. Ever. Acceptance.
A week ago, I was accepted to Nova - Fort Lauderdale. They were a last minute addition to my list of schools, so I'm hoping to hear back from others soon. Don't get me wrong, it feels good to finally get in somewhere, but Nova isn't exactly my first pick. Unfortunately, the deadline for their deposit is the 25th and I still have three more interviews to attend in the next few weeks. I also interviewed at Utah last week and feel pretty good about it - I hope to hear back from them soon. If I am accepted to Utah, I will most likely decline all other interviews.

Has anyone heard from Wingate, University of Kentucky, or East Tennessee State?
