Hey guys! I've noticed a lot of people post their stats in other specific threads, but seem to have stopped posting on this sticky, which is really the most helpful place for it...so, I thought I'd post mine and hope more follow! :) I've noticed in the pre-physical therapy forum they post their stats even before hearing back from schools, and then update it once they receive admissions decisions, which I think would be great if we do too. If we want to build this forum and eventually have enough to split it into pre-OT and OT then updating this sticky could help too!

@ILUVOT did u apply to the OTD at Usciences?

Otfaith2012, I actually applied to the MOT program at USciences. I have read on the site that students in the program can change their decision from completing an MOT degree to a DrOT at almost anytime. For now, I plan to just stick to the MOT degree. Thanks for asking.

I also applied to USciences and I talked to admissions today and they told me that they send decision letters to applicants based on when the applicant turned in their application. I applied in September and they said my application is being reviewed now and that I should hear from them by Mid December with a decision. I will constantly be checking my email and mail lol

I was so completely scared to apply because of my low cumulative GPA. However, I concentrated on acing my pre-req's, doing well on the GRE, getting good recommendations and writing a strong personal statement. Don't lose hope.

UPDATE: Waitlisted at UPitt! Kind of exciting!

For those of you with a lower GPA like mine DON'T LOSE HOPE!!!! I will admit my stats are not that competitive for most schools because OT is becoming an extremely competitive field and from what I have heard several schools have it to where 3.5+ overall gpa and 3.6+ gpa for prereqs is standard. but there is still rays of hope for the little people with an intimate passion to become an OT. Get involved in your community, expand your exposure to OT and its many work settings, practice and develop efficient people skills that you plan on expressing at the interviews for OT schools, and most importantly PRAY and TRUST IN THE LORD!

My first year out of undergrad I was an Americorps member with City Year in DC where I volunteered full-time in an elementary special ed. classroom. I then spent a couple years as a high school special education teacher with a Teach For America like program in DC. I now work for an ed non-profit writing standardized test questions for students with severe cognitive disabilities.
Applied: VCU, Temple, Thomas Jefferson, BU
Acceptances: VCU, Thomas Jefferson, Temple
Waitlist: BU
Rejections: N/A
Still deciding where I will be attending. I put in a deposit for VCU and have in-state tuition there, but I think I would prefer to be in Philly. My SO is also applying to law school and has a full-tuition scholarship at Temple so we have lots to think about!
Good luck everyone!

Still waiting on WUSTL technically... but attending Jefferson!

I got rejected/waitlisted at what I thought were targets but got accepted to programs I never thought I had a chance at. Cast a wide net when applying! :)
