Hi guys! Does anyone have any thoughts on my chances of getting into a program with my stats? Being that I was a business major, I am nervous. I know it gives me a diverse perspective, especially with so much experience in the industry and around therapists/clinicians but still... Seeing posts on these forums gives me hope but is also discouraging as some stats are just so much better than mine. My first semester at SRU was a disaster because I was going through family issues at home and my grades fell as result. I wish I had been aware of what resources were available for emotional support or aware of the option available to withdraw from the course that was going to poorly affect my GPA. I plan to apply to the programs this summer when the applications open. Praying for the best outcome! I've never been so determined to reach a goal in my life.

Anyways, does anyone have advice on applying to OT schools in general (OTCAS, personal statement, application boosters)? Anything is appreciated!

Undergraduate University
: Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania

Major: Healthcare Administration and Management

Cum GPA: 3.27

Last 60 credit GPA: 3.7

Pre-req GPA: (in-progress)

GRE: Q: 142, V: 148 (Practice test score - have not taken actual test yet; I know it needs improved...I hate math, plus studying while working full time is so difficult right now)

Schools applying to: Slippery Rock, Chatham, Gannon, MUSC, Towson, Shenandoah, Salus, D’youville

Professional Experience: administrative intern in home health and rehab, administrative assistant for adult day health center organization, nursing home administration intern, health information coordinator for an adult day health center organization

Observation/Shadowing: 5 hours in pediatric inpatient rehabilitation, 5 hrs in pediatric outpatient rehabilitation, 50 volunteer hours in acute geriatric rehabilitation

Undergrad extracurricular: Future Healthcare Leaders Club member, Adapted Physical Activity Club member, American Marketing Association member, Intramural Soccer participant

MISC: CPR certified

LOR: 1 OT, 2 Professor, 1 supervisor

I'm in the same boat as you! My undergrad grades were really terrible. I graduated UC Davis with a 2.96. But I've pulled up my cum GPA to a 3.3 with my prereq coursework. Also, the GRE was the bane of my existence - I had to retake it and my score still isn't that great. But, so far I've gotten 3 interviews. So keep your head up! It just takes one acceptance!

Yeah it stinks being in this spot, hoping to bring up the GPA with the prerequisites I need to take. I despise the GRE, do you mind sharing your final score? Thanks for the positivity! Thats awesome! That gives me hope haha. Good luck in your interviews!!!

Hi everyone!! I can't begin to explain how much looking at prospective OT's stats have motivated me and helped me prepare for when it was my time to apply. I am happy to share my experience in hopes of helping someone else.

Undergraduate University:
University of North Alabama
Degree: Exercise Science
Concentration: Clinical Exercise Physiology
Cumulative GPA (not completed yet): 3.85
Prerequisite GPA (not completed yet): 3.67 (UAB) 3.76 (USA) 3.56 (Belmont) 3.82 (Nova OTD) 3.64 (UF)
GRE: 150 V 154 Q 3.0 AW (I'm awful at writing under pressure)

Tip/Motivation for those that aren't the best at the GRE: I took the GRE in January 2017 after studying (aka cramming) for a month and walked out crying because I did awful. I was so defeated and never thought I would earn a competitive score. I studied more effectively and retook it in September and I WENT UP 12 POINTS. If you struggle with standardized test here are the study materials I used that helped me soooo much.
1. Kaplan GRE book (comes with tons of online full-length practice tests: Taking the GRE is A LOT about the endurance of taking a 4-hour test. The practice test is just like the actual test & it works every single question out for you to review at the end. I did this over and over.
2. VictorPrep Vocab Podcast: OH MY GOODNESS this helped my verbal score soooo much. This is a podcast that I used to listen to every time I was in my car. A precious, British man explains vocabs word in such an understandable way. I enjoyed this so much that I STILL listen to them. I have come across tons of the words he goes over on the GRE (as well as life).

Anyone know if NOVA Southeastern has filled all there spots?

Anyone know if NOVA Southeastern has filled all there spots?

Are you asking about their MOT or OTD? Pretty sure MOT won't be full until at least after February 1st when they send out the next wave of acceptances! Not sure about OTD though. Also, people will be getting other acceptances in Feb-April so there's always a chance people will drop their spot!

I have an interview on Friday. Any tips?
Just be yourself! It's super casual and everyone is super easy to talk to. Just prepare yourself for questions like why OT? How do you handle stressful situations? Why ATSU?

Hi! If you just submitted the video today, you should receive a confirmation email from Robin in the next couple of days with a date of when they'll send out their decisions. I sent in my video on 11/6 and heard back with their decision on 12/1. I believe they send out their acceptances in waves as they admit on a rolling basis, so my time frame may differ from yours but I hope this gives you an idea!
