Grad level courses?

How exactly do you take Graduate Level courses in UG?

I have heard people say "I have take 7 grad level courses, etc, etc." How is that actually possible? And can these be honors courses?

I'm sorry for the dumb question. I am just a bit confused.

At my school any senior who meets the pre-reqs (if there are any)for a certain range of graduate classes can take them for undergrad credit. (so they are basically a joint undergrad/graduate course).

If you want to take them for graduate credit you have to do some paperwork and get all the proper approvals and such.

They are different from honors course which just get an honors denotation on your transcript.

we dont even have to do the paper work we just have to qualify. its still a part of your undergrad gpa since other undergrads probably take the class too.

interesting thing - you might actually get to take the same class with md/phd students. since grad school has a minimum grade to maintain (like a B-) their curve is pretty lenient. however, if there are enough undergrads in the course, you will have a harder curve just for the undergrad section.

At my school, some of the upper level honors courses were actually grad level. I took grad level, writing intensive Immunology, but technically, on my transcript, it was Micro 4xxH, for the grad students (majority of the class) it was an intro class: Micro 5xx.

Other classes would be undergrad, and I could make it honors if there wasn't an honors section, but I'd do some additional project to make it Honors.
