Just thought of answering your querry. For DA I think a must read is ORAL HISTOLOGY by A. R. Ten Cate (Mosby publication). I think 5th Edition is current.

hey deepbite,
ten cate is good.. but pretty detailed, read if u have time... orbans is good enough for oral histo. plus as oral histo is included in teh anatomy section , there arnt toooo many question asked.
for DA... read wheelers. plus where do u stay , cause i have reallly nice notes, which i could lend to you.
for occlusion , kaplan is good.. but i read form okeson.. it really helped me.

well the earlier the better , the admission cycle starts in Aug.. send it as soon as possible.
but better to have a great score and send it a bit late, rather tahn an average score and early.....
i only applied to BU and that too 2 days before the deadline.

I have 86 in part 1. NYU intv date March 31. Now after hearing your plight I am already heartbroken before going to intv. I mean they have called to, at best, waitlist me, right? BTW when was your intv? I am also planning to retake part1 in July.

Also please read my posting in Stonybrook thread.

Hi sUSHILA

First thing first. Lets wait for the Part 1 result. All decisions depend on it. In the meantime only thing you can do, considering you have a 6 weeks+ wait for the PBT result, you can keep re-reading the Part 1 material at your leisure in order to stay connected. This also makes sense if you are unsure about performance. As you don't know how your performance will shape against the national 'Curve' it's bit too premature to think otherwise. Also it makes sense to retake Part 1, if you score around 84. Part 2 is not going to help. As for me I don't remember my exam at all. Also my philosophy is to forget all about the exam after I come out of exam hall, as I won't be able to change a thing about a past performance. In the same token I don't think remembering past mistakes help one prepare for the future exam as the very basis of unsatisfactory performance stems from a unsatisfactory preparation! I am sure you will do well.

Good luck :luck:

thanx for reply
i really appreciate ur guidance. One thing more suppose 65 que r right out of 100 in each subject then what u think how much i will score - just curious.

so when u r appearing for part 1 , anyway best of luck with ur preparation
thanx once more.

You are welcome. I think 65 correct answer will yield 80-86 percentile depending on the curve (My educated guess). Then again PBT curve seems to be steeper and helps people with high number of answers.

An advice from a 4 time taker( 5th next month) of NDBE 1 😡 , I think u should also include the USMLE 1st aid book, kaplan book or notes ( or any similar book ), unreleased and remembered q's, just read whatever u can get your hands on! 🙂
