I have a feeling that answering the phones at a med school admissions office is a lot like working at the driver's license window at the DMV: everyone who calls wants the same thing. How can you get exicted about that? Even nice Loyola guy, Matt, was sounding less than jovial during my 60th call to their office.

I KNOW G'town sends rejections via mail. Got mine before Christmas and burnt it in my fireplace to roast s'mores. They tasted extra bitter. Frickin' jesuits. Creighton wanted me, why not G'town? Don't you jesuits talk to each other?

we're having the opposite luck... I interviewed at Gtown, but can't get Creighton to look at my file. I e-mailed them to check on my status and they said the adcom selects files for review randomly (don't know if they mean they select only files their interested in or if it's totally random) and therefore they couldn't say when mine would be reviewed.

Well that explains why my file was looked at before some April MCATers! Perhaps they have an "Application Wheel of Fortune" that spins and if your application comes up, they look at it!

OR perhaps these jesuit schools DO talk to each other and since you interviewed at G'town you get nothing from Creighton (vice versa for me). Did you apply to Loyola by chance? I am on "hold" there...this is all starting to make sense....hmmm....

I was told between now and March and that they interview through April.

All I know about my app is while the committee does its best to review applications in a timely manner, please be aware that it may be a while until I hear from them again. I want to hear from them. Their soothing type, their air of authority, their proximity to phallic monuments. I want it all.

The Admissions Committee has placed my application on hold for re-review at a later date. I understand, the review process is very thorough and time consuming.

Wish I could, but RFU rejected me OVER THE PHONE!! I was politely calling to check on my status and apparently my status was "F-U!" I still have not received a rejection letter, and I am still the only one on the Wall of Shame. Indeed, it doesn't get more shameful than that.

You can never have too much lube. In this case my lube is alcohol (feel the burn!) but I'm not going to do that now.
I'm just going to email cms.admissions@rosalindfranklin and hope for the best.

PIP? I didn't find out over the phone. I'd been emailing the admissions office updating them on my oh-so-exciting life and then I randomly got an email from a guy who said, "As of today your application is under review. Your application will be returned to our office sometime next week. Please feel free to contact me then to get an update on your application." Well that very next week I had a thin envelope in my mailbox telling me I'd been rejected. Gah!

this process really messes with ur head - i just called for a status update - she said "your application is under review and you should hear from us ina few weeks..."

............the way she said it, made me feel like she was saying "youre gonna get a rejection letter from us shortly"
