I am also in the DC area (in maryland) so GW is just a subway ride away… but so far

But if the waitlist is moving already, then maybe it will move even more after the 15th??

I'm also on the upper echelon at GWU and have received absolutely no love so far. How many letters of interest, intent, or updates did you guys send?! I've already sent a letter of rec. from an alumni (post-interview in December), and two strong letters of intent (post-waitlist notice in Jan. and post-upper echelon notice in March). I thought that would be sufficient to show that GW was the only place for me, but now I'm not so sure that was enough....

Yeah, you're certainly not the only one, I just had minor foot surgery but I still can't do anything but sit on the couch all day, so I just refresh the page every so often (read: incessantly clicking), especially often since hearing the waitlist movement yesterday...and congrats to everyone who got calls!!!

Good to know! I hate to give up too much excitement but it seems to me like they probably had one committee meeting already and might have called anyone they decided on that day, would they really meet again the next day? I guess this close to the big May 15th date they might be in a continual process though....

Oh that was probably back in March. I was put on the pre-interview hold pile in December before that. I've honestly given up hope on GW, but it would be nice if I eventually got in there...

Keep your chin up, I got that same letter in feb. and got an interview in late april, now I am waitlisted, not upper echelon, but got the housing email.

I haven't posted before this, but I am sitting in the same spot, at work staring at the computer hitting refresh.

Hey everyone, this is my first post but I have been watching close. What has everyone sent in? LOI? Official transcripts? Updates?

I got a letter saying I am an alternate, nothing about Upper Echelon, on Apr. 5th. I sent letter Apr. 6th by fax, then a co-worker (Med school Instructor) sent a letter of Rec, on my behalf.

I have not received any more correspondence - no housing letter, upper eche, ect.

What have you all done?

welcome idaho grown!! in my letter, i included what i liked about school, how i felt myself fitting in, etc etc.

i'm not sure but i think med schools can see where all you are accepted. i'm not sure about if it affects your chances though. i would say probably not if you sent in a letter of intent. i don't think they'd expect you to turn down an acceptance in hopes that you would get off a waitlist. soooo, good luck and congrats on your acceptance.
