Unfortunately, I still have one year to go before I start applying. IT makes me HAPPY to see people get in - it not only gives me hope, but it motivates me to work hard.

Hey Guys! I'm new here, yet a fellow upper echeloner! I've sent in several letters, faxes, emailed Dean McQuail a couple of times and just called for the first time earlier this week (they made note of it too)! Any other suggestions on what else to do/what to say??

congrats to to all of you who have gotten in. ive sent in my letters. i havent called tho...seems like that helps. so that's definitely happening on monday. who did u guys talk to in the admissions office...is it matt who is prob the best to talk to? good luck to everyone who's gotten in..im awaiting the call..

i think last time was the first time they actually wrote anything in my file. i just asked about movement and told them how interested i was in their school. matt said he'd write that in my file.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things. If you're still in school, send in updated transcripts from this past spring sememster; new publications or an update on research endeavors; new EC's or additional letters or rec.

Most importantly make sure keep a sense patience and perseverance.

Yeah, actually not everyone wrote down my name when I called- but when I mentioned my interest, they asked me for my name at the end of the convo

hey uccalbear! i think about half the class lives in foggy bottom and the other half lives in va. check out fred's link in the gwu 2009 thread. it lists contact info for all the apartments around the school. or you could always do a search on craigslist. good luck!

I'm also waiting, I've been reading the posts for a long time - they've definitely been giving me hope as well as making me nervous 🙂 haha

I called the office this morning and I asked if the bulk of the movement was still happening and the lady that answered said that she wasn't sure, but that the list would keep moving throughout the summer (as expected).

So does that mean that movement is slowing down? Does anyone have any new info?

YAY!!! GDUBB is till in the house, hahah. I'm feeling a little better today after my waitlist breakdown last night. My friends and family think I should limit my sdn checks to once a day, haha...but they don't understand the addiction!

👍 yay! the movement is gonna continue! i got in friday and i'm still insane. now my focus has shifted from waitlist to moving, apartments, money, etc.

I heard that the adcom was going to regroup this week and review the alternates before sending out anymore acceptances. So, maybe the end of this week, or beggining of next. We shall soon see.

A friend of mine, also an alternate, called the admissions office and that's what they told him.

When I called they said that there haven't been anymore acceptances this week but maybe next week. He said things will slow down more than they have been 🙁 but that movement will probably continue throughout the summer - and they just had some people leave the class.

😀 There is still hope, we'll probably just have to be more patient, something I'm willing to do.

You know, I wonder if they watch this thread and laugh as the little info we have gets spread.

Down to 5 now with no acceptances...I had 7 but AECOM dropped me and Upstate was a no go as well. This was all very strange to me, but I've seen other applicants in the same position so I guess I'll just never figure this process out!
