Hi!

I know the ranking is all coming to a close. One thing that myself, other applicants I met, and perhaps you yourself have found during internship interviews is not really knowing where people end up after internship and how competitive they are for post-doc applications. Interns I have interviewed with for information in this are in a rough spot-- they are still in the midst of interviewing. I also come from a very small program with not many alumni having left the state so I don't have many leads in that regard. Information you could provided would be greatly appreciated.

Would anyone happen to know the competitiveness for health psychology related post-docs (primary care, health psych, women's health) regarding the Portland VA internship in comparison to others in the area like the Seattle or Palo Alto VA internship?

Similarly, would anyone happen to know how competitive Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Med is on the East coast for health psych post-docs? (A primary care mini rotation is offered, but not guaranteed).

*****thank you*****

As far as I know, Portland VA interns seem to do really well for post doc in general. I can't say for sure how they do for health specifically or compared to interns from Puget Sound or Palo Alto. However, I do know that Portland VA has great health psych training and also a few health-related post docs (health, PCMHI, palliative care).
