Our residency is part of Harlem Hospital Center, a busy hospital in Northern Manhattan. Residents are trained in all clinical aspects of dentistry-such as implant restoration, endodontics, esthetic dentistry (veneers, porcelain crowns and onlays), periodontal surgery(crown-lengthening, osseous surgery, and open flap debridement), crown and bridge, removable prosthetics, oral surgery(simple, surgical, 3rd molar ext.,) bone grafting (socket and ridge preservation) and pre-prosthetic surgery (tori removal, alveoplasty).

Attending dentists include general practitioners, oral surgeons, pediatric dentist, periodontists, endodontist, and an esthetic dentist. Residents will get training in the operating room both with the oral surgeons for exodontia, infections, and fractures and with the pediatric and in general dentistry for pediatric and special needs patients.

Didactic training extends throughout the whole year with on average one to two lectures a day. Residents also participate in Community Health Fairs. Practice management and scenarios for the new dentist are also presented to our residents.

Harlem Hospital Dental Clinic is located in Northern Mahnattan on 136th St. and 5th ave. in a diverse area of NY City with many restaurants and cultural institutions. Residential housing is located near the hospital and a subway is located on the corner, that can have you in midtown Manhattan in 15min.

This is a great opportunity for an interested senior dental student who has a great desire to improve their diagnostic and clinical skill set. Successful completion of the program, will allow the resident to apply for their NY State dental license. Our PGY-1 Salary is $59,874 and there are 4 weeks of paid vacation.

Students can email me or contact our Resident Coordinator, Ms. Cardona at 212-939-2882; ext. 2883, to apply.

Kindest Regards,

Dr. Madhere
