I've got a 508 MCAT (first try), 3.35 cumulative GPA (Chemistry major, science GPA is 3.7), plenty of research experience, shadowing, and an essay that makes me stand out in a major way (I think).

My number one school choice is Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. I went to OU as an undergrad and am an Ohio resident. I submitted my secondary application in early August.

Since this is my first time applying to med schools, I feel somewhat uneasy about the admissions process from here on out and have a few questions regarding the interview season.

1. Did I mess up my chances by submitting my secondary app in August?
2. Should I be expecting an interview invite, considering my scores, GPA, etc. ?
3. When do people typically receive invites for interviews?

Thanks!

I haven't been invited but I saw a few people on here already were. I also met a guy at my last interview who had one scheduled there.

1. No! Submitting your secondary in August is still early for DO programs (check @Goro advice on this topic (i.e. when is early/on time/late))
2. Numerical stats look good! But you'd be better off making a What Are My Chances post to get much more detailed feed back about your chances. From what I have learned about this entire process... it's best not to expect a thing, unfortunately.
3. Most schools interview from Aug/Sept - March/April. So this process is ridiculously long. You could, theoretically get an interview invite to a school in Jan, or March, or tomorrow.

Thanks for the response! I figured I was in decent shape, I think it's just all of this uncertainty and waiting around that's driving me crazy haha.
