The title is pretty self explanatory. I submitted my primary last night and after submitting realized that I forgot to include my current and next semester courses! What do I do? I called AMCAS and they said they can't add anything at this point. Am I so screwed? Should I email each school I'm applying to and let them know?

Thanks for any input.

If not listing future courses don't screw you, certainly submitting your primary near October will.

Thanks for your replies. I feel like my application is competitive. I have a 513 mcat and a 3.7 cGPA and 3.93 science GPA. Is it really that bad to submit it by deadline? Also I just called every school I'm applying to (about 22 schools) and they all said "no biggie, just shoot us a word doc with the info or include it in secondaries". But is my lateness such a terrible mistake?

Yes. Yes it is. Something like 95%+ of every school's applications are going to be processed before yours. Unless you have some stupidly amazing EC's/URM status to go with your stats, you're going to most likely be passed over. Your stats are pretty average for MD. By the time you get your primary verified, secondary invitations, return secondaries, most, if not all, seats will be gone already. Good luck.

@brettpalmer

Big mistake sending it in this late - don't be surprised if you don't land any II, let alone acceptances. Having said this, I personally know a few current medical students who submitted this late into the cycle and managed to receive IIs and acceptances at some big name private schools. They had stats slightly more competitive stats than yours and fairly decent ECs. The difference is that they had 1 or 2 IIs out of 20, and could very well have garnered much more had they applied earlier in the cycle.

Good luck and hope for the best.

Future courses are not binding. A lot of people list future courses that they don't ever end up taking, so it's not like that would make or break your application anyway.

As others have said, the major issue is that you are submitting your primary so late.

There are 123948209357 people who applied almost 4 months ago and have these stats, as well as many with higher stats, which already puts them ahead of you a bit. I have a friend with a great app who applied around this time her first cycle and received 0 interview invites. Next cycle, she was accepted very easily, so unfortunately yes timing matters.
