First of all congratulations to all those got new interviews... my 2nd rejection from UNC also...

Had my first interview... definitely a long but exciting day... after some invites now two straight rejections and no invites for last 2 weeks... hope more invites are coming for everyone!

Got the invite from UNC today. Here's the updated tally:

interview offers (in order received):
1. Northwestern
2. Vanderbilt
3. Penn
4. UNC

still waiting for several others...
 
Congratulations on the interview invites, everyone...sounds like things are starting to pick up slowly but surely, with lots of programs still to hear from.
Also congrats on finishing the first interview of the year, ghettomd! I'm starting to get anxious just thinking about it.
Moffitt/USF and Duke are now offering interviews via ERAS/email. Moffitt on Mondays/Tuesdays in February and March; Duke on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays starting 1/23 (!) and continuing through February.

stating they are now just starting the application review (at least mine) and to sit tight, they will try and let us know within a few weeks yes/no. Nice of them to update us.
 
Kcane you are definitely doing really well so far, both in quantity and quality of the invites, those are some solid programs... maybe we'll cross path(s) at Yale/ Maryland/Fox Chase.. congrats again...

Hey thanks, ghettomd! I definitely wasn't expecting these interviews, it has been a very pleasant surprise so far. I definitely hope to run into you and the others in the forum on the interview trail!

yeah i got the second email from ucsf which was exactly the same as the first email about 3 wks ago stating that they were reviewing applications.

on another note, any one couples-matched for fellowships? i find myself in the same boat that i was in 2 years ago... but instead of applying to plenty of IM residency programs back then and being very flexible of where we'd like to end up, we now have a couple particular fellowships that we'd like to match in. do fellowship PDs take the sig other into acct?
 
I never received an email about UCSF and they have already uploaded my application. Should i be worried?
 
is it me or things seem to have slowed down a little.....was hoping to hear from many programs (incl rejects) during these past few weeks.....dont know if programs are taking their own time this time.....

any thoughts? is it time to start calling?

got interview from university of oklahoma yesterday by email. today got invitation by phone from NYMC Westchester
so far the big ones (DANA and MDA) said NO.

I have three interviews so far. I agree that it has been really slow lately (heard minimal news in the past week). I would let it ride out. Calling the programs serves no advantage. I would wait until the end of January at least. Good luck everyone!
 
Just wanted to add in my two cents...Looking at last year's posts, this week was very quiet then too. Invites picked up again in late Jan/early Feb. Some of the big names like Hopkins didn't send out invites until mid-Feb. Even though all of the waiting is painful, half the programs don't even send out their first invites for another few weeks!
 
Finally some more enlightening news, NYMC Weschester has sent out invites.. Also University of Vermont... I think this year we'll all have to more patient!
 
M.D. Anderson is interviewing on Saturdays starting the end of February.

Emory sent another email stating they are reviewing applications...at least it's better than many other programs who are not saying anything!!

so far rejections- 3 ( fox chase, thomas jefferson, MD Anderson) interviews- 2 ( u of colorado, UT san antonio) elated..... and broke. how are U of colorado, UT san antonio.
 
Yesterday, I got an email through ERAS about an interview at UPCI . Two dates in February and four dates in March. Good luck everyone!
 
Got 3 invites more this week: UPenn, Pittsburgh and U.of Wash.
All by e-mail.

Looks like more and more programs are sending out interviews i am 0:4 behind already(a real bad start for the upcoming superbowl!), applied to 30, zero invites, some don't even bother to send the "regrets" email. This is getting really depressive. GL to everybody out there!
 
NW sent an email saying application "reviewed and is still under consideration.
We only offers interview for 50 applicants and at present time we are not able to offer you interview but your application is active and you may be offered an interview later in the process"
I take this as rejection. Any of you have similar email? is it the standard format NW responds?

question for people who received invite from U Washington, were you able to schedule interview via email, or you need to call a coordinator. I received an email/invite on Friday, but still did not schedule an interview...thanks...
 
Got the exact same message from Northwestern. Don't know if it's a rejection or they may have a "B list" to draw from later. Regardless, I know I don't have an interview there right now.
 
Sounds like it's a B list for interview... since I've already received a rejection from NW.. still a chance.. MSSM sent out more invites (?Second batch, 7-8 dates overFeb/March)

Last year I did everything by email. It was a holiday w/e so things should pick up today/tomorrow.
 
Ohio state has set up interviews by phone calls, recieved it Friday. I never got the email that people have been getting about NW nor a rejection, nor an inteview. Not sure what to make of that. Where did you interview GhettoMD, if you dont mind me asking

rejection from OHSU by e-mail... "we receive over 250 applications for the 4 spots.... we are sorry... good luck... etc."

seems like the pace is picking up- this week there seems to have been better variety in both geographic locations as well as type of program (academic vs clinical)

Got the first one today from U Pittsburgh, same as others today, 1:4 still not a good score,hopefully this is the start of some more luck! Thanks for cheering up! GL out there!
 
Glad to hear there's been so much more movement these days...

Tufts is sending out invites by regular mail--no specific dates given in the letter.
 
got snail mail from NCI-onc. interview dates feb 8,march 14 and april 18. also snail mail from Tufts.

I am new to this forum. Congratulations to all who got interviews. I got snail mail from Tufts.
Did anyone hear from Boston programs other than above stated Tufts, BI, and Dana or from Brown? Thank you.
