Hello all,
I've been a lurker as well- about time I finally put in my two cents.
Programs that I have interviews at:
Texas A&M
Galveston
Stanford
USC
University of Arizona
University of New Mexico
Roswell Park
Wisconsin
Brown
University of Florida
San Antonio
University of Minnesota
Louisville
Still have not heard from the majority of programs, though. Good luck to all...

That's not correct HD, they have two positions; one is in the match and one is outside match. where did you get this info from???

Michigan State already started interviewing, I havent heard any from Miami
I think you need at least 7-10 interviews to be safe

I wasn't aware that programs were filling spots outside of the match... Is this alllowed? Did anyone else here in this forum accept a spot already???
invite from pitt this past week by email. scheduling is going to be an issue...
i've heard from candidates at the last interview that they've already been to emory, michigan, and georgetown. i have yet to hear from them. are programs interviewing early and then decide on a "second-tier" batch later on? not kosher.

I know Michigan has been interviewing, but didn't know Emory had been... interesting. I wish they'd let you know if you're in the secondary batch so as to not waste your time and airfare...

Hello everyone....
Good luck to all of you as try and secure a fellowship spot. I have a quick question for anyone who can provide some input. I am about to start my IM residency (currently a 4th year med student) and was curious as to what the best reference book would be for someone in my position who is very interested in medical oncology. I definitely want to start early so that I don't look like an idiot on my onc rotations as a resident. Also, I have a pocket PC that I can download any program that any of you feel would be advantagous. What did each of you do during your intern year to prepare for oncology? Thanks for your time, and again good luck with landing a fellowship!

I was told you would get an offer after interview if programs like you. is this true and is it common to do that? has anybody get an offer after interview; or at least programs promise to rank you high; or any indication? please share your experience. So far no programs indicated anything yet. what does it mean? 😕
I haven't recieved any "offers."
Just the (apparently) standard line from the program director to close the interview: "Well, because you were invited for an interview, we're obviously very interested in you... Keep in touch." (or something to that effect).
I got this at most of my interviews. Some gave even less of a feel about where I stand.
I get the idea that because the whole ERAS and match thing is new, no one knows exactly how to act.
Are you all sending thank you notes to the PD's? Or just to programs you're most interested in?

anybody interviewed there? what is your impression of these two programs.anybody interviewed at albert einstein and fox chase?

things have been dead other than the pitt invite.
i think the 3 places i've interviewed thus far have kept it neutral regarding potential "rankings."
still in limbo at: Rush, Wash U, Emory, G'town, MSKCC, Dartmouth, Michigan
I think Rush will likely keep its own residents since there are only 2 spots available per year.
People have interviewed for sure at Emory, G'town, MSKCC and Michigan already. Don't know about Dartmouth or wash U.
Please keep us posted, fellow interviewees....

Hi guys,
Yes, it has been fairly silent at the interview front. Unclear if it is all done or not. Anyways, has anybody interviewed or has any inside scoop about the USC (southern cali) program. How well it is the training and the reputation.
Thanks for the info, and GL to everybody.
