Those who are nice enough to leave AMCAS alone, and to not harass them: Change your game plan NOW!!!

I got verified today..submitted June 28th after I threatened to sue! I called Nancy Tillinghast and told her my story. This was yesterday..This morning I spoke to a "specialist" (Melvin), and he smooth-talked me for about ~45 minutes, apologizing and promising that my application would be done in 1 week, that it was stuck in some technical malfunction where schools could not receive my info etc..He also said that you are verified and ready to go, except for this problem. So..later I called Nancy T. again and talked to her. She found out that I was NOT verified, but in the beginning stages of! So..that's when I told her that if I was not done in 5 working days..the next time she hears my name, it will be from a lawyer! I was dead serious..infact I had my dad already find one and discuss the issues with one. SOOOO guess what???? I got verified! After hours to boot!!!

I also got a personalized email..not a standard one that goes to all applicants.

I am so relieved!!! Now I won't have to worry about all the med schools who are waiting!

I am sorry if this bugs those of you still waiting..but if you want results..you have to try this. What can you possibly lose? We already have suffered. Lots of schools are waiting for verified stuff to offer invites/reviews etc! Go for it! Good Luck to all still waiting!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! After reading SMW's post yesterday my and I wrote a short, 1 paragraph letter as well. I had a friend who is an attorney put it on her letterhead and fax it over there. I got red x's within a few hours. No correspondence yet though..

I'm getting personalized letters, faxes, e-mails, you name it! But the part about the specialist does make me little nervous. Although my app does have a "Date Processed" on it? Did yours during the period when you thought you were verified but weren't? What about blue slashes and X's after your courses?

Once upon a time, I did enter verification, only to be pulled out..even then I had no slashes of any color on my application. Of course at the time my 3 categories were red x'ed..I couldn't see anything..but afterwards I could open the Print application page and there was nothing! So to answer your question, I never had date processed(until now) or slashes. But..I think, since your dad did write a letter and you have gotten written confirmation from AMCRAP, you will be fine. It seems that only when they get scared, do they work as they should!

Also, my sister (posts as sz) got verified at the end of July (1 month after submission!), and it took AMCAS 1 month to send her a confirmation email, but several schools confirmed receipt before them!
So...I think you are ok! You should call up schools and find out from them.
