I've waited a total of 5 weeks since my casper, its been delivered weeks ago and it says the same for me on my portal...
 
@LilGirl19 Remember that their first ever class just started and they are also making admissions decisions for next years class, so it is a busy time.

Here is a direct quote from their application page referencing the Casper:

"The Acuity Insights assessment takes approximately two weeks to be scored and then it can take us up to two weeks to update applicant portals as this must be done manually by our team. We suggest to take the test as soon as possible. Test registration opens in April and the first tests are typically administered the first week of May.

As a reminder BOTH the Casper and Duet must be completed as part of the application."
 
Applied: May 13
CASPER: May 30
Interview invite: June 21
Interview date: July 19
Application currently says decision pending! I believe the first group of interviewees will hear back by the end of this week!! Still super early in the application so don’t feel discouraged if you’re not hearing back immediately!

I’ve applied since June Casper submitted June EC still no interview invite and decision still pending!!

I'm in the same boat as you! I been waiting since May 15 though since they got everything. It's ok we just gotta wait and hopefully we get an interview otherwise it is what it is and we can't do anything about it sadly.
 
I saw a post in fb saying they are mostly looking for students with no experience and that are followers not leaders… it was weird

I wouldn't trust that source unless it came directly from them. There is a lot of misinformation out there. Followers and "non leaders" aren't going to make successful Dentists. I obviously don't know EXACTLY what they're looking for but I'm confident it's not a 'follower that isn't a leader'.

I interviewed there last year as well and didn’t get any of the vibes that this individual is saying. It’s possible there’s some bitterness that some may have. I always tell everyone to do their own research and don’t take things like this as the final say. If they didn’t like dental experience they wouldn’t have interviewed me as I’ve been a hygienist for 6 years. From my personal experience, shes completely wrong.

Exactly what @SaveTheChiclets said. This person could be bitter about their experience last year, or could just be plain wrong about their interpretation of what the school is looking for.

There's a lot of misinformation about HPU WSDM online, and most of it looks like this--sensationalized "red flag" PSAs intended to scare people away from the program entirely. A lot of it stems from apparent resistance to change in the dental field with HPU's approach. Resistance to change is normal and to be expected. 🤷‍♀️ You don't have to put a ton of stock into what everyone says though, especially on the internet.

To be clear, while I don't think this particular post has much legitimacy, I'm also not saying there's no merit to any of the concerns people are raising in groups like that one. I think it's a given there will be issues to be ironed out in the first few years of any program. The first few cohorts will simultaneously be pioneers and guinea pigs, and not everyone is comfortable with that. (I would actually recommend reading through some of the more critical/negative threads about WSDM as long as you feel comfortable with taking everything with a grain of salt. I think reading others' concerns and reservations can help you make a more informed decision about whether WSDM is a good fit for YOU, and not just how you can be a good fit for them. Any legitimate concerns you have, ASK about them in an interview! Please don't forget that every interview is a two-way street!!)

This school should be a red flag for anyone with relatively decent stats.
 
So I just finished my interview here and the faculty here are great. I was expecting to be a lot more nervous during the interview but they made us feel very welcomed and relaxed.
They told us to expect decisions around the middle of fall but I’m not sure if it’s only for us or including you guys in the previous interview groups.

I think they meant they COULD find out as early as august, not necessarily promising they would hear back. But I’m not sure why they’d say that and not follow through or email applicants aknowledging the delay

They said we will hear back mid/late August and also on the FAQ page, it said we would hear back no later than 60 days from the interview which is not on the website anymore. It seemed pretty clear that we would hear back in August.

Oh wow I didn’t know that. Wish they were more accurate and came through with their actual promises.

I'm sure they've tried to keep up with what they say, but you have to figure having an inaugural cohort and most likely a lot of moving parts during the last month to get ready and be prepared has probably delayed their timeline. There's most likely a lot of things happening that we have no idea about, so stay patient!

No updates here exactly, but my portal changed slightly. There used to be an "Application Checklist" box, but it disappeared. Does anyone know if that means anything at all? (It may just be a general site update--just curious if it happened to anyone else.)
