Just to help with some of the gloom and doom around here...

I got hired as an intern pharmacist here in Southern California. It's a pretty saturated market, but I just wanted to give some hope to people looking for intern positions. I know some of my classmates are having trouble finding open spots, but there are opportunities around if you spend the time and effort to find them.

Also, I have limited experience (never worked as a tech). Even if you do not have a lot of pharmacy work experience there are opportunities abound for interns... at a $16/hr rate too (I'm a first year).

The doom/gloom is more on the subject of actual pharmacist jobs, of which 25% of the people in those positions don't vacate them every year as is the case with intern positions.

good job and congrats. Intern positions are hard to come by in these parts but I can't imagine how difficult it is when there are a billion schools in one state.
