Holding Acceptance but, want to go to waitlisted school

So here's my situation. I have an acceptance at Northwestern, as well as an unranked school. I'm waitlist at UCI but that's where I want to go for various reasons (cost, community etc).

What should my strategy be to convince UCI to take me off the wait list? Should I tell them I have a top 20 acceptance through email or call them or what? Thanks for the help.

They will see your acceptances on April 1 anyway.

Maybe letting them know that they're still your top choice would be a good idea, NW is a great school IMO I would take it over UCI so maybe they would think similarly
