So here is the deal. Our dean at our school (NYU) gave us a presentation in prep for the part I boards. In this presentation he stated that to pass the boards a cumulative adjusted grade of 75% has to be attained, BUT also passing all the individual components...... Here is where I am confused.... I called the joint commission on national dental examinations and was told that the passing grade on the exam is a 75% adjusted regardless of the individual grades.... This is also what I have heard from several of my colleagues here at school. My suspicion is that our Dean told us a load of BS to try and keep our schools grades inflated..... My understanding is that in the past it used to be that all 4 sections had to be passed and also a grade of 75% overall attained.

Any info? thanks.

You don't need to pass all sections...you need a cumulative adjusted score of 75 and you'll pass. I'm not a 100% sure but ~65 in every section should do the trick.
