Hey fellas!

Relentless studying, palpitations on sim test scores, endless nights, sleep deprivation, socially redundant,near-demise relationships, being mute hours on end, awry meal times, flaying tempers, Mc.Dumbhead feeling.....

Phew, we all have had or are having an agonizing unforgiving run to that near perfect or target score.

What made you have your sanity and metal health intact during this ardous process?

C'mon people! Share some positive vibes!

i study most of the day but take breaks to talk to family...always go outside and shoot hoops 2-3 times a day...and sometimes at night from like 9-12 i'll call up some friends and go out for a bit and completely forget about step 1

it really is a draining process, but I am enjoying it more than studying for classes because this stuff actually has me learning more than stupid memorizing

oh and i check SDN frequently 🙂

I found step 1 studying fun. Not very draining at all. A good reason to be with yourself, a good book and goljan without anyone disturbing you.

a couple of times a week you can study in a library to change the scene, if you dont already do that, and also exercise.

There is something very, very wrong with you.

I'm getting by by just grinning and bearing it. I decided to get myself used to studying all day, and entirely ignoring class facilitated that plan considerably. At this point, I'm pretty used to putting in 8+ hour days and still eating, working out, and doing whatever else needs to get done. I can't effing wait for next year.

By taking out my rage on small animals.

Or working out.

PETA wasn't keen on the idea. They threw blood on my gym shorts.

I take breaks usually. A day off here and there or a few hours. I try to go out at least once a week, get a little extra sleep when I need. And I did different phases studying in different areas, and took turns with different materials so i was always seeing something new rather than looking at the same source 3 or 4 times. Questions or audio/video are most engaging to keep me interested.

True, SDN is a great place to hang out , doubles up as a motivational tool and you can manage to squeeze in few laughs here and there😉

Sometimes when you feel like pulling your hair out and feel your study is going in no direction, what do you do?

Continue or take the day off?

Imagine having wonderful colleagues who enjoy spending time with books for hours on end alone 🙂 Weird

lol what the hell is wrong with you maybe stop with the all nighters and see if you feel better

Facebook, internet, taking breaks... not overdoing it.

Making realistic big picture goals (e.g. finish subject X in amount of days), and not making ridiculous, unrealistic study plans that outline hour by hour what I am doing.

Pandora radio, facebook, working out..my days are 8hrs also, believe it or not, the UWORLD questions keep me intrigued..theres a certain high you get from taking practice tests..but you have to balance..get some fresh air..this exam is about endurance mostly..and intelligence to a lesser extent..good luck

I find that having a 2 sons under the age of 2 helps break up the day unpredictably and refreshingly. Not for the faint of heart.
