Does his stuff actually show up on boards ( the things he says on the audio)?

Everyone I've talked to that used it says many, many questions were straight from his material. One guy in my class who was a big fan of the Goljan lectures had a predicted score of 195 on his CBSE and scored a 250 on the real thing after listening to Goljan.

I basically did nothing but listen to Goljan and read through First Aid anatomy, biochemistry, and behavioral science sections once and scored a 219.

His stuff is the real deal.

Wow! If listened to about 8 of them and they're really good. Does he write questions for step 1 or something ?

I would recommend listening to the audio and taking notes if you can. You will remember much more and you can then use them for review in the last week or so before the test. That is what I did and there were probably at least 15 or so questions that I would not have otherwise gotten correct if I had not spent time with the audio. Of course, there were probably about 100 more questions that I may have gotten, but was MUCH more sure of after listening.

I think Goljan is prolly worht an extra 20 pts on your USMLE. I felt like there was a ton of stuff on my exam that was strait outta his mouth. Definatly worth the time I spent on it. I highly recommend this along w/FA

amen to that.

I did a lot of driving during my 2nd year and Dr. Goljan was my driving buddy on almost every 6 hour round trip home for the weekends.

Entertaining and educational. Can't ask for more than that. Except 20 extra points on the USMLE.

That remains to be seen...😉

Everyone that I know that used it had nothing but good things to say, just spoke to my boy who used it, he got a 246 and he was like Goljan is golden, I wish I had the time to listen to the audio and read the notes, probably would have pushed me to 250!

They were great, though I would have liked to have gone through all of them a second time right before the boards. All sorts of stuff from his lectures showed up on my test...even his seemingly-low-yield scenarios (e.g. glass blowers).

With enounce 2xAV, you should be able to breeze through the "easier" stuff. He enunciates his words well, so at times I'd even listen to him at faster than 2x speed while managing to pluck out the meat.

I have all the notes(over 1000 pages) if you need them

They are all pirated, and illegal, but I got mine for $30 from someone on the internet--can't remember where. It pained my catholic guilty conscience, but I got over it. I've decided not to resell mine, however.

Anyone know how to record a mp3 file into a faster rate? Is it possible to record a one hour school lecture into a 40 minute file? This program sounds great but aren't you limited to sitting in front of a computer.

if you want to speedup audio only files (MP3, etc) try goldwave.
It has a time warp feature that lets you speed up to any speed. You can add noice reduction, and other effects as well. choose a bunch of files and process them all at once -depending on your computer speed it should take less than a minute for a 1hour file.

I'm interested in getting the Goljan audio, but I don't know much about it. Most people seem to have bootleg copies of his lectures. Does Goljan himself have a site where he sells legitmate copies? If not, where are people getting this stuff?

They get it from ebay.

Goljan also authored a " Rapid Review Pathology " text which, minus a few points in the audio, is pretty much what he says in a different sequence. I can only say that I wish I had the audio and book from the beginning of my second year...Goljan is bad ass !...seriously...I'm still waiting for my score on Step I, so I'll really be able to tell then. I highly reccommend the audio and the book..this way you wont have to write so much on your own.

Most versionsof the Goljan audio on CD come with the scanned copies of the actual lecture notes as well, so its easy to just print that, and btake notes on it as well.

Does ebay have LEGAL copies of Goljan audio? I kind of feel bad for buying/getting for free illegal copies.

Are the audio CD's useful w/o having the book?????

i did not have any notes and still found them extremely helpful. i made my own notes and they were great to read over the last couple of days..

I just got a copy of Goljan's scanned notes and I noticed it has several different kinds of high-yield notes and questions. Can anyone tell me which of the following they used and found most helpful for STEP 1? Thanks--

-HY Notes Pathology 2002 (100p)
-HY Questions for USMLE (36p)

-Integrated Pathology Notes 2001 (44p)
-HY Questions (89p)
-Goljan Notes Part I and II (184 and 166p)

Thanks!
