Then what's this "wasted 120k' about? If you're not applying for two years, then you probably have enough time to bring your GPA up anyways. What do you mean? I'm not applying for two years. 😀

yup.You said your not applying for 2 years, are you a sophomore?
I don't even know what DO really is at the moment an do not like the sound of it. Apparently there's one in my state (city) that I never even knew about... And I've never been a DR XXXX, DO. And nope, solid B+s and like a mix of A-s and Bs.
Uhm, she copied her entire report for AP Bio from the internet, transferred a state school, and again- 16 ACT. I've come to the conclusion that everyone on here goes to low rank/unranked schools and therefore does not understand why I'm annoyed.
Well, my school costs 60k per year x 2 years = 120k.Then what's this "wasted 120k' about? If you're not applying for two years, then you probably have enough time to bring your GPA up anyways.
It's not a competition, get the "we get beat" out of your head. Easy A doesn't mean people don't work hard. Remember, in some schools, while 25-30 percent get an A, that is FAR from the majority. Just because it's easier doesn't mean people don't work hard. Don't assume so quickly.
And, well you choose to try to go to top schools. Remember, you didn't have to go to the college with the strictest grading policies. I'm sure you chose it cause of other factors(location, cost, has a good school for your program).
If it's a problem, just transfer to an "easier" school. It really doesn't matter in the long run.
The kreb's cycle is the kreb's cycle. Too bad no professors would ever ask you to define it.
LOL as if she would be premed, she's smart enough to know better. She herself says the CC is a joke. By the way, I live a block away from said CC, have taken classes there, and my brother went there and then a ridiculously easy state school. <- I'm jealous. But who cares? She'll get into med school, and match into orthopedic surgery ranking in the top 5 of her class.
After all, you DONT need to be highly intelligent/smart to be a doctor. If you do, there would be an even bigger doctor shortage!
Transfer.yup.
What..?That's cause they probably don't give a **** like 95% of 1st year med students.
120kTransfer.
There are two types of Medical Schools. Osteopathic and Allopathic. Allopathic schools grand an MD degree, whereas Osteopathic grand a DO degree. Both can enter ANY residency (assuming you are competitive). Osteopathic schools are less competitive to get into(meaning you could probably get in with a 3.3-3.5 range), and they focus on a holistic approach to medicine.I don't even know what DO really is at the moment an do not like the sound of it. Apparently there's one in my state (city) that I never even knew about... And I've never been to a DR. XXXX, DO. And nope, solid B+s and like a mix of A-s and Bs.
Would you return a 30k for a 5k one? No, I'm in too deep.
I'd rather have a Ph.D. I'll look into it more though. If you haven't even done the research to know what DO is then you have no business coming to these boards and complaining.
If this legit, then damn OP is one bitter SOB.Trolls die out by the 2nd page through either 1) contradicting themselves, 2) getting banned, 3) by not getting satisfaction from the replies. This is legit son.

Do you realize how much money that is?
no dear but thanks for playing 🙂Is the 'Bama' part of your name related to your support of Obama...? Would make sense...
How far in school are you? One year? That's far from being too deep.
Regardless, you chose the college you went to for your reasons. Unfortunately, it wasn't the one you wanted. If you can't transfer, just continue to work hard. Who the hell cares that 50% of people have it easier than you? You aren't competing against them. If you ever think like this, you're adding unneeded stress. Just do you, and you'll be classmates with half the people from an "easy" school and half the people in situations like yourself.
But DO schools are less competitive. You would be a great fit to get into one! 😀
JEEZ. I spent 60k per year, which if I keep repeating 120k, means I've been here for 2 years.

Right... With people with the same GPAs from me from schools with 10 percent graduation rates. No, I respect MD to even slightly consider school difficulty.
LOL, my "dream medical school" if you can even have one, isn't even ranked. So no.You have to be one of the most entitled POS that I've seen on these forums yet.
Are you honestly saying you'd rather get a PhD at a name brand school than become a physician at all? What is wrong with you? You have a chip on your shoulder because a non-premed friend is getting good grades at a community college? How does this affect your life at all? You're not entitled to med school. You haven't earned it either. Stop complaining. If you really want this then just work hard and make it happen. You're in a fine position to improve and get MD or DO, both of which will lead to a satisfying and fulfilling career if your dream job is to be a doctor.
Bottom line: Get over yourself, you're not special.
Not really, everyone has to play their cards, right? I'm first generation and I plan to use that. It just sucks when you could have PICKED those cards....There will be people from MD schools in the same situation.
I hope you don't share any resentment towards URMs who get in with low stats tooo....

I'm just going to say......if you really want to be a doctor, then you'd consider going to a DO school. Keep that GPA above 3.3 and you can probably get in.LOL, my "dream medical school" if you can even have one, isn't even ranked. So no.
Well, at the time it was the right card. Because in any graduate school application process -> my school>lesser school. It doesn't suck when you can pick those cards. I understand you are mad because you picked the wrong card.

Then you don't really want to be a doctor. You just wasted 10 minutes of my time. No, thanks.

I was just foolish to think medical schools applied.
You act like I'm the only person to turn their nose up to DO. Many people have worked hard to improve their app to reapply. Why didn't they just apply DO?Then you don't really want to be a doctor. You just wasted 10 minutes of my time.
Well, it was my dream school so I will push my kids to go after their dreams. I would never push them to save money and go to a crappy university, it's so sad that everyone on here thinks that's the smarter move. I'm sure most of you couldn't even get into my school at the time and now you guys are in a better position. You should never pick a school because you think it'll look good for some graduate school crap. But, life lesson learned, something you can teach your kids.
Says the person who just found out what an Osteopathic Physician is 5 minutes ago.........You act like I'm the only person to turn their nose up to DO. Many people have worked hard to improve their app to reapply. Why didn't they just apply DO?

Nope, always knew of it. Thought it was dumb as I don't believe in holistic bs. Through SDN I realized it's pretty decent, but no thank you.Says the person who just found out what an Osteopathic Physician is 5 minutes ago.........
Because they're geniuses from China who had a even harder time getting in here and spend like 10 minutes on Physics homework when I spend 2 hours. So, please, natural intelligence is a thing.Truth. Find ways to study smarter and study harder instead of complaining about other people's performance at other schools over which you have zero control. You have full control over your own grades. So work harder to earn them -- someone's got to be getting As your courses, why can't it be you? Your university at one point deemed you as capable as any of your other classmates and admitted you to the same university. Step it up.
Also, where in the world do you go to school to assume that no one on this forum has had to deal with a more challenging environment? Unless you go to Reed, study engineering at MIT/CalTech, or attend one of the few truly grade-deflating schools, I'm not impressed.

Guess so. Still don't understand how some uni's upper level courses with their easy exams, extra credit, and homework that makes a difference in grades compared to schools with exams being the only way you're graded and that are so convoluted you cry.
Someone should explain to me without any biases. Maybe I'll ask a premed adviser.
Oh, really? Do you remember posting this 10 minutes ago?Nope, always knew of it. Thought it was dumb as I don't believe in holistic bs. Through SDN I realized it's pretty decent, but no thank you.
REALLY is. I never actually googled it. But when I did, didn't learn much else.Oh, really? Do you remember posting this 10 minutes ago?

Nope, not at all. If I had your stats and wanted to be an MD (which I do), I wouldn't settle.I had a 3.5 and 31 and will be attending a DO school next semester. These aren't stellar stats but they don't label me as the dumb*** you seem to think I am.

NO, CHEEZUS. If I had to put in 10 hours to get an A and he had to put in 10 minutes to get that A, WHAT-THE-****-EVER. I am not getting As though......so you're saying it's unfair there are people who are smarter than you and you have to work harder to get the same results as they do? That may be so, but it certainly isn't something that's unique to you or something that can be helped by complaining. Life is unfair. Work with what you've got and make the best of it. If that means working thrice as hard as everyone else to get where you want to be, suck it up and do that. Whether you're committed enough to make that commitment is a decision you'll have to make. Good luck.
