I recall reading on the application instruction booklet online, page 13, that the essay cannot exceed one page in length. Is this true? I remember reading on here a while back that many of you wrote approximately 900 words. How did you fit it onto one page? Or am I missing something?

on the paper version the limit is probably one page, while on the electronic one it's 1000 words. just a guess.

Forgive my ignorance, But are we able to fill out the application completely online, including submitting the essay, instead of printing out the form and mailing it in? Thanks ahead of time for your reply.

yes, it is the most convenient and widely preferred method 🙂 you also pay the aadsas fee by credit card online at the end of the application.

Also just FYI, you can type your essay in Microsoft Word and then just cut and paste your edited essay into the appropriate field within the application. If your essay is to long it should let you know when you try and paste it into the application from what I recall.

Yes, you are permitted to submit the essay online - there is a section within the application in which you can cut and paste your essay. Keep in mind that what is counted is not words but rather the number of characters used (e.g. the number of characters in the word "characters" is 10). That is why most essays, mine included, end up being around ~950 words in length.

good point about the cutting and pasting. i think i heard once that people were using notepad to paste from though because word resulted in some errors after being pasted into aadsas. i used word and i think i had to read through and fix a couple things. for example (,) might show up as (") going from word to aadsas. whatever you do just proofread the actual copy in the aadsas before sending it.
