You are usually given one month advance notice. Some schools ask you to call them to book an interview date upon the receipt of the interview letter.

Case sent notified me on June 24 by mail for an interview on Aug. 18. The other schools I've spoken with indicated that you would be given around a one month advance.

Some schools also allow you to determine when you will visit. Once you receive the invitation, you let them know when it would be more convenient for you (considering academic demands, of course) and they attempt to accommodate (now that's being student-centered!). 🙂
